A Day at the Beach...

First of all can I just say that the streaming didnt let me down - Trevor did - he didnt even manage to stay awake for the first of Man U's 3 goals - we eventually persuaded him to turn in at half time so that we could all get some peace from his snoring!

People of a nervous disposition should avoid the next little bit...

...as you know just prior to Trevor & Vix coming out John had changed the toilet in the shower room - we haven't got round to getting rid of the old one and currently it is a bit of a feature in the front garden.  People keep suggesting we should leave it there and plant it up.  Earlier in the evening Trev thought it would be a laugh to take up residence  for a blog photo-shoot!!

Enough of that I hear you cry!!!

Anyway today we decided to do the tourist thing and have a drive around this part of the island and then, shock horror, go to the beach which will be the first time since we arrived for John!!

The day started dry and bright and quite a bit warmer than yesterday.  We started our tour by driving out through the back of the village and through Androlikou to Neo Chorio.

We passed through a number of goat farms and an abandoned Turkish settlement.  The goats are fascinating (if not a bit smelly as they seem to suffer from severe flatulence!).  We were particularly taken by the fine specimen in the photograph with the impressive curly horns and Beatle haircut!!

We arrived in Latchi to find the beach packed (NOT) and set up camp next to the life-guards hut.  The life guard was concerned that we were sitting there as he explained he was going to be noisy - we said we didnt  mind and engaged in conversation with him during the time we were there.  Those of you who know John will know that we didnt just pitch up with towels - we had hammocks and a half moon tent and a brolly!!

It was hot today but there was a little breeze and the sea was absolutely stunning - so good that Vix went in on several occasions which apparently is quite a rare thing (I wont embarrass her by publishing photos!!).  John and Trev shot off to our favourite transport caff to pick up rolls for lunch - they were well impressed as they were fed little tasters whilst their food was cooking and given bottles of water whilst they waited.  Four massive takeaway rolls at €4 each kept us going all day.

We packed up mid afternoon to show the visitors the delights of Latchi Harbour which you know is my favourite spot.  I just love the colours of the boats and the taverna's and the harbour cats.

We stopped at Faros for a drink and decided that we would return later this evening for a meal - we think the cat by the specials board sold it to us!!!

We had a quick trip down to Paps to stock up on supplies before returning home for a quick swim and warming shower before returning to Latchi for dinner.  As they say, all is good in the hood!!
