We were off to Paphos today for three reasons...
(a) Aunty Norma (Dad's sister) and Uncle Tommy had arrived to stay with Mum and Dad
(b) I was playing pickleball again now that autumn has arrived and the weather is cooler
(c) It was quiz night
I have managed to grow some oleander from cuttings - I really wanted white but for some reason they just dont seem to strike - the red/pink ones are no trouble at all.
I also planted out the coxcomb flowers that we bought when Trev and Vix were here - we thought they were the flowers that Mum was looking for but were wrong - she was looking for the dwarf bottlebrush so not even close!
Last job was to sew some of the californian poppy seeds that Trev and Vix brought out under the lime tree - I really hope these manage to grow as I love californian poppies and these were double flowers. The garden is definitely going to be an on-going work in progress!
On the way down into Paphos I called into the new Sports Direct shop on the Polis Road to grab myself some proper sports clothes so that I could at least look the part on the court!! That shop is brilliant as I was able to pick up some tops and shorts for €4 a pop - I looked a vision in pink!!!

I cant remember the last time we saw them but it will have been some time ago but they never seem to change except that Uncle Tommy is struggling with a poorly knee that has just about worn out - he is hoping that at some point they will replace it and then he wont have to rely on a stick to get round.
Mum and I went off to Pickleball - Mum had her first game after the break on Tuesday but this was my return after quite a few weeks off. Fortunately there were six of us playing which meant that there were regular breaks between games so it was a gentle easing back into the swing and I really enjoyed it.
Quiz night last night and Aunty Norm came and we joined Ray, Janice and Janice's sister Jacqueline. We did really well finishing second and could have actually won it if we had not changed our minds on a couple of the questions but then that is what always happens when you are not absolutely absolutely sure of an answer!
I had a crack at the €250 question but did not have a clue - Which theatre is the smaller Lilian Baylis theatre attached to? The answer was Sadlers Wells - I guessed at Old Vic. Jackpot money remains untouched.
A good night all round though and Aunty Norm really helped out with the clues that Dad normally completes for us - it must be a family trait!
