Although there was a definite nip in the air on Sunday before we set off for the races it was at least dry and bright. Today we woke to leaden skies and we knew it was just a matter of time before it started pouring with rain. How we wish we hadn't forgotten to pick up our big brollies from the car before we moved to Cyprus - we now realise we don't own a single umbrella so it is going to make the dash between buildings even more interesting!!!
The weather made all plans for outside work go out of the window and so we opted for a slobby day indoors - poor John cannot get two minute's peace even when he is trying to read his tablet!!
You can see him with Minnie very firmly on his lap and Chivers looking to see what is going on!!
The cats are bonding well and Minnie looks to have steadily put on weight since we brought her home last week - their periods of 'play' time can be a bit trying as they look like they are beating the hell out of one another and Minnie Mou is soooooo vocal she sounds like she is being murdered. The quiet times however are a real joy and when she is cleaning him or they are snuggled up together they are sweetness and light and we love them!
The weather deteriorated as the day continued so there was nothing for it but to snuggle up, draw the curtains and light the fire. The weather had affected our phone line - Mum had to call on the mobile to let us know that our landline was down - apparently when it rains hard their phone goes down too! It also meant that the internet was a bit up and down so we opted for a film and watched the Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Shores.
The change in the weather has got us thinking more about Christmas and I really must get a move on - it's not that many weeks to go now - we are going to have to rely on doing things much more electronically by way of cards and presents as the shopping in Polis is almost as limited as our budgets!!!
