A Grand Day ...

What a random day today, when we got up it was very overcast and cold so I got well wrapped up to go to craft - jeans, boots, jumpers, body warmer the whole ish!!!  I set off for Neo Chorio and as I passed through the village the sun broke through and as I drove down towards the coast I was accompanied by the dulcet tones of Bing Crosby crooning my all time favourite Christmas song - White Christmas!

December 14th and we are still able to craft outside!!  Craft outside and boil alive into the bargain!!!!  I didn't really have a project to get on with so I just took some felt and beads with me and made some poinsettia flowers to put on next year's cards!  We had a thermometer on the table and at one point it was showing us 37 degrees - how mad is that???

We crafted until it got a bit chilly and then we had lunch at about 2.00pm - today it was a very hot and spicy leek and potato soup with fresh bread - thanks Graham you did well!

John has had a frustrating day at home doing DIY.  Our termite infestation is rather more rampant than we first realised so we are in two minds as to whether we can fill in what John has chiselled out or whether we will have to go the whole hog and have a new door frame - deep joy!!  What with that and the fact that the tongue and groove in the downstairs toilet has popped off the wall again and the condensation in the lounge is still a problem we think we take one step forward and two steps back!  Still John doesn't really have anything better to do!!!

This evening we had arranged to go to Christos's Taverna for something to eat.  We decided to walk down because although it was cold it wasn't so cold as to make it unpleasant to walk.  We had arranged with Alkisti to have beef stifado which we knew would be freshly cooked.  We had a lovely evening and entertainment was provided by a group from Arodes coming in to play poker.  Unbelievably two of the five originally came from Weston-Super-Mare and one of the five used to be head teacher at the specialist school in Kingsdon - how spooky is that!!!

We didn't stay too long because we had left the kiddiewinkles in and John worries about them either (a) being cold or (b) wrecking the house.  This is how we found them when we got home - looks like they were ok to me!!  John has been trying to get them used to the catflap today with limited success - Chivers will go through with a lot of persuasion but Minnie Mou is terrified - there is a lot of work ahead of us!
