A Quiet Sunday...

It was quiet here this morning when we woke - no Laura to say 'Good Morning' to!

We had decided to have a lie in and attack the pile of newspapers which have been stacking up courtesy of Mum's next door neighbour.  I know that by the time we get them they are several days out of date but hey they are still news to us!! Minnie has declared herself a Daily Mail girl having leafed through several editions - too much trash in the Sun for her liking!

It was grey and overcast today - John would have you believe, if you read his post on his 'We Love Droushia' facebook site that we woke up and it was white over here in Droushia - if any of you were fooled then take a look at the date of the posting - April Fool's Day.

The weather didn't look like it was going to be nice enough to get my washing dry so I decided that I would leave it until tomorrow when hopefully it will be nicer - well the weather forecast says it is going to be.

I have a number of plants that are awaiting my attention so I decided that my time would be best spent putting them in the garden and then if we did get any of the rain that was threatening they would get a natural watering in.  Well we didn't get the rain in the end but at least that is one more job sorted and hopefully the Gazanias will bring some welcome colour to the garden - I can't believe that the weeds keep rearing their ugly heads even though I do a massive cull periodically.

The cats are loving the conservatory and are busy covering everything with their ginger fur!

John decided that he should fit the second cat-flap in the conservatory so that they can go in and out when they want and so we can lock it up properly at night.  I have purchased a 'tunnel' to fit between the external and internal pieces of the cat-flap but it is being delivered to Kaye and she is bringing it over at the end of May.  We decided we couldn't wait that long so John has made a temporary tunnel in the interim.  Minnie Mou has been in and out already - Chivers is a little more hesitant but some little treats either side helped to concentrate his mind.  This is great because we can have all the doors closed and the cats can go in and out at will.

We are on a mission to eat out of the freezer as it is jam packed full and I can never find anything when I need it and it is a constant battle to get the drawers open and closed.  Tonight we are having coq au vin although made with two huge turkey drumsticks.

The temperature is cooling down this evening and I have to say a really big THANK YOU to Vix for my highly stylish and ultra comfortable slippers which she brought over with her when she came in February.  I can wear them now that I am able to walk across the buildings in the dry - my last pair got ruined when they got ever-so slightly soggy.

We are off down to Emba tomorrow to celebrate Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary.  What do you give someone for their 57th Anniversary?  Dad says it should be immunity from uxoricide but I know he is only joking!  Only three years to sort out a celebration for their Diamond celebrations!
