My breakfast meeting at Orexi HQ this morning with the lovely Elena has confirmed to me that the blog must live on - Elena says she misses it as it used to be the first thing she would read in the morning before embarking on a day filled with cooking - plus she says that she has no idea what is occurring in our neighbourhood without it so that clearly needs to be addressed.
Chatting over a particularly scrummy piece of lemon drizzle cake made by Tanith Messenger's mum and showing Elena how to make an Instagram collage of photographs and then post it to Facebook, I was convinced. I maybe wont be as religious with the postings as I had been but as we said to one another sometimes memories, recipes, stories etc are lost over time - they need to be recorded for the future. I am getting to the point where I cannot remember what I did last night let alone last year so I had better pull my finger out!
If you enjoy the read then please spread the word - it is so exciting seeing how many people come across the blog and all the different countries they live in.
My discount voucher for the Aphrodite Water Park which I got from Paps supermarket last week has gone to a good home as Elena and her family are bunking off for the afternoon and spending some quality time together on the flumes - well deserved after her mammoth cookathon last week.
John and I were meeting up with Mum and Dad and our Stalkers Wendy and Bill at a lovely little taverna on the Mesoghi Road near the Outlet Store called To Tavernaki. Nothing pretentious just good honest food at a reasonable price - a great lunchtime venue when you really don't want to have to stagger from the table and write off the rest of the day. Your €10 main course is preceded by dips, bread and halloumi and after comes a pud and today the offer of a brandy which we declined! happy chappies all round though! We thought it wise for Bill to sit down-wind as he had spent the morning shit shovelling at the donkey sanctuary!!
Another quiet night in beckons - hoorah - although we might try and see whether or not we can catch the meteor show that everyone is talking about.
