No Meteor Showers...

Well we did a lot of running in and out last night but never managed to catch the widely anticipated 'Meteor Spectacular' - I think we were either (a) too early or (b) too engrossed in Ripper Street to see it.  It would appear though that people down at Santa Barbara beach bar got quite an eyeful as the rather buff and blue eyed baker known as Paul Hollywood could be seen enjoying sundowners.  The artisan baker is no stranger to Cyprus having worked here previously.

It is my day for feeding the stray cats which have taken up residence in and around Villa 12b - this includes the beautiful tabby Jazzy-B (or Peanut as Irene calls her) who was dumped here recently and who is still in need of a home.  She has partnered up with Donut - the huge black and white tom who has to be regularly shaved like a poodle but who is kind and gentle - and she studiously avoids Billy (no-mates) and the two old retainers Fluffer and Slapper who are less charitable to newbies.

This morning I had three takers for breakfast Jazzy-B, Donut and Billy.  To be fair there are far worse places for these cats to be - they have regular food, shelter and company.  Jazzy-B and Donut would just make such lovely house cats it is a shame that no-one has adopted them.  Having said that when Sharon and Sean come out to live permanently they will no doubt take them under their wings if they are still around.

Being the duffer that I am I managed to feed the cats and then lock the housekeys in the garden - John gets so exasperated with me and my duffership but like I say I don't do these things on purpose and unfortunately it ain't gonna get any better!!!  He dutifully got the ladder out, scaled the garden fence and retrieved said keys - no harm done!

It is a day for fiddling round the house before an evening swim down at the beach with Lou and H.  I am making a wooden plaque for someone who is getting married shortly - it is proving to be a bit of a challenge because I have tidied away my scalpels and I can't find them - John gets so exasperated with me and my duffership but like I say I don't do these things on purpose and unfortunately it ain't gonna get any better!!!  Am I now repeating myself??????

The cats were totally oblivious of scalpelgate and the fact that I turfed absolutely everything I had out of my craft cupboard did not stop them getting down and comfy on the bed - even when I removed all the bedding and whipped the bottom sheet from under them like a magician does with a fully laden table - et Voila - two cats dead to the world.
