Up early this morning as Boris comes in as regular as clockwork around 6.00 to announce his arrival and his request for food. The routine is generally the same - one or other of us umpires the feeding of the cats as both Charlie and Boris hoover up their food as quickly as possible so they can barge the other two off of their bowls. Minnie Mou is a slow and picky eater - preferring only the gravy from the pouches followed by a few biscuits and she is normally the first target for a takeover bid. Cats fed the coffee goes on and the windows and doors are flung open. I like to take a look around the garden to make sure that the water bowls in the garden are topped up as for some reason the cats rarely drink water indoors preferring to go outside and drink from the pool or from the bowls that are often filled with wildlife and rubbish. One of the bowls is located near the bees blossom - why is it called bees blossom? no need to ask just look and listen to the video!!
We think our immediate neighbours may be here next week and John likes to make sure that their pool looks reasonable when they come so he thought he would nip next door and just give it a bit of a clean and top it up.
Chivers came along to see what all the fuss was about but came over all superior looking at Boris as if to say 'what's all the fuss about it is only the tubey thing that Dad uses to hoover the bottom - I thought you had seen a snake you duffer!.
Boris looked duly miffed and chastised and wandered off with an 'I am not being friends with you anymore because you took the mickey out of me' kind of look on his face!
It was only a matter of seconds before a new game started between Charlie and Boris - they love each other dearly - Boris constantly looks out for Charlie and given the opportunity loves to flop down on top of him to go to sleep - but when they are not being nice to one another they beat the hell out of one another play fighting which looks and sounds much worse than it is. We left them too it - they tire of this game quite quickly thank goodness.
At the moment Boris is sporting a pale pink collar because he is in disgrace for having lost six or seven over the past two weeks - we are hoping that this one will stay on for a short while. We only like to give them collars so people know they belong to somebody!
Eventually the three boys settled down to admire John's handiwork - just a quick clean so that Gregoris and Theodora will be happy to take a dip if they do pitch up this week.
We had John's mum and stepdad up for the afternoon - the atmosphere at the apartments is still a little subdued so we brought them up to us and spent the afternoon together in the garden. We were going out tonight en masse to Steni for the infamous ribs served at the weekend. On our way down to Polis we were held up by the Halloumi Express - a huge herd of geeps/shoats (hybrid goats and sheep) being walked across the main road.
After a bit of musical chairs to get us all sat down we had a lovely evening - we were joined by Mum and Dad, George and Pam and Lou and H and a great many ribs!
