Another catch up post

Sorry folks but it is another catch-up post from just prior to Christmas...

At the moment no two days are the same so it was rather nice that when we got up today to find that it was a clear and bright day with glorious sunshine.  We were going out for lunch with Mum and Dad and Jane and John so before we ventured down the hill to Sonny's we went down to John and Susan's to feed Millie and check on the house.  Millie Mou was enjoying the winter sunshine.  She likes the sun and finds nice little spots to take advantage.  Once again she didn't seem too bothered about her food she just wanted a cuddle.

John took time to remove the leaves that were floating on top of the Read's pool.  Decaying organic matter can turn the pool water green and although John isn't responsible for the pool he wants to try and avoid them having a bigger job than necessary on their return.  Millie sorted and pool sorted we had a pleasant ride down to the coast and to Sonny's.

It was lovely down at Banana Bay - the sea looked so lovely.  We arrived early and had hoped to sit on the terrace but unfortunately it was in the shade and although it was a nice sunny day it was chilly if you were out of it.  They had lit the wood burners indoors - it's a big place and the two fires struggle a bit but it was full so all the extra bodies helped.  I am betting there are a lot of restaurants that would have loved to have had that many diners in.

There was a charity carol concert at the Droushia Heights with proceeds going to the local school and we had been invited by Georgia who is our link on the parent teachers association.  We decided that we should go and support the school and it was only €5.00 for the carols, mulled wine and a mince pie - bargain!!  We walked down to the hotel past Bigfoot and her foal who now, thankfully, have more green to eat.

The school kids were fantastic - my favourite little girl Angela was a star - in the front in the white jumper with a big star on it and hats off to Eleni's son for being the only boy there but not being too embarrassed to join in.  John says that the mince pies were mint and the mulled wine was cracking!!

It was good to catch up with David (saxophonist in the front) and Simon next to him and Simon's wife Melanie and their two girls Jasmine and Frances - we haven't seen them since our 'do'.

It was election day in the village - we weren't registered to vote and it was a very close run thing as the current Mukhtar Mr Stelios was returned with only a 3 vote margin.
