We had snow today January 27th and we had snow before Christmas too...
This photograph will give you a taste of what today was like - bloody horrible - rain rain rain rain and more rain and then to cap it all SNOW.
We needed to get dressed for the elements as we were going down to feed Millie and grab a few things from Polis whilst we were there.
I know the island has desperately needed some rain but it would be lovely if it didn't come all at once. The cats are hating it and my beautiful tiled floor in the conservatory is a map of footprints because no sooner have I washed it than it gets covered again.
My neuralgia has flared up again and I can cope with it no more so I was off to get myself dosed up so that I would be ok for the festive weekend to come. Hopefully whatever it was that Dr George prescribed the last time would do its magic and quickly. It hurts in my ear when I swallow and at the top of my head when it is not hurting in my ear - the other night I convinced I had shingles as I was itching all round my body but in the end we put that down to a change in washing powder.
It was a grim ride down to feed the cat but she had been sensible and holed up in the gym although not in her basket. We caught sight of her through the catflap but no amount of calling and cajoling would entice her out and that was probably a wise move - yesterday she was rolling around in the sunshine today she would be in danger of drowning.
We dropped off the mammoth sized pumpkin to C&A apartments, got some drugs for my poorly and managed to get the veggies for Christmas which I will store outside in the pump house and hope it will keep until the weekend. The weather was deteriorating further and visibility was getting worse - with no drainage for the roads they were awash with standing water.

Sheila and I worked away on our respective pictures and didn't realise the weather was getting even worse until it became so dark we could hardly see even though we had an overhead anglepoise for additional light.
I had decided to concentrate on the bottom of the picture just for a change as I had got a bit fed up with the small flowers. The glass vase was a bit of a challenge but I enjoyed doing something a bit different. Not so much left to do now just two more flower heads and it will be done and I will need to find something new to do.
Our concentration was broken by the realisation that it was beginning to snow and that the snowflakes were getting bigger and bigger! Not sure this is quite what I signed up for when we moved over for the 320+ days of sunshine that the island boasts!
