My life is currently revolving around a lot of vitreous enamel and bathroom fittings - so we had a list of 'things to do and places to go' when we went down to the big city of Paphos today.
We have a problem with our mixer tap in the shower room - it is under guarantee and Crystalla said it was no problem and to bring in the receipt and she would sort it - the little button that is used as a limiter to limit the knob so you cannot scald yourself has gone in and resolutely refused to come back out no matter what John has tried!!!
We have also got to return the tiles we purchased for the 'downstairs' toilet as they are damaged - not surprising when you look at the state of the boxes they came in (or not as the case may be). The material placed between each tile to stop them rubbing together had disintegrated and so they had rubbed together and rubbed off some of the finish. We rang Angela and she said it was no problem and to return them and she would sort it.

G&P's was our first stop to return the tiles and to decide what we were going to do instead.
It really was no problem - we simply chose some different, more expensive ones and she let us have them for the same price as the original ones - these came in much better boxes and had a finish that no amount of rubbing would destroy. Had we seen these the first time round we would have chosen them anyway so we were pretty happy and John is now raring to go with tackling the project - he is more than happy to do this himself because he knows he will end up with a finish he is happy with and if he isn't then he only has himself to blame unlike the last time we had someone do some tiling for us in a bathroom which turned out to be a less than satisfactory experience.

While we were sorting out the invoices for the tiles I had a look around at toilets and a nice neat handbasin ensemble for our cloakroom - which is the world's smallest cloakroom but thought the toilet's were too expensive and the sink/cabinet too plain.
We went off to the aluminium man next to sort out the final figure for the last part of our fencing project and to pay a deposit for the work which hopefully will be done in the next week or so.
From there we went down to Crystalla's which turned out to be rather an expensive exercise as we arranged for the swap out of the tap no problem but then went up to the showroom area and found a sink/cabinet/mirror combo which was on offer and the same toilet as we have already in the shower room also at a good price so we decided to go for it - do the job, do it once and once only. We should get all the bits next week.
Before playing pickleball we stopped off at the Smart Shop - we buy a few bits and pieces in there when we are passing because they are cheaper there than anywhere else! I have to say that the Smart Shop has one hell of a wine choice and at very reasonable prices - we did find the Tsangarides Maratheftiko that we were given the other week but that was €10 a bottle and I am not sure it was twice as nice as our favourite Vasilikon but nice for a change.

What had started out as a very nice day deteriorated and we had rain - warm rain but rain. Hopefully this is the weather forecast for tomorrow as we are due to be doing our rescheduled village clean which we couldn't do last time because of the snow.
We had food all sorted on our return - John had put jacket potatoes into the embers of last night's fire and they were perfectly cooked and we had the remainder of the stifado from the other night.
We caught the last two episodes of the Unforgotten which was a brilliant series even though the subject matter was rather harrowing.
