Sunday...

This morning we went up to see Bassam and the children (well the two who were up) and to check out the progress on the shower room.

Wow Bassam has done well since we last saw it.  He is ready to grout the tiling then all he has left is to put back the toilet and sink.  What a change - Elena would be miffed as she complained about that room all the time!!!  A fantastic feature in the shower is a natural stone seat which he has incorporated complete with two indents just right for your bum cheeks.  I have asked him if I can put my name down to come for my daily showers once it is finished.  The only think I don't like is the stippled finish on the ceiling although John quite liked it but then if you lived in the UK you tried to escape stippled finishes and artexing which was rife years back.

We were invited to take coffee and cake up on the roof terrace and for February it was absolutely stunning - we soon regretted wearing our fleeces!!!  Now it is most definitely much cooler indoors than out.  We sampled two apple cakes made by Amoura and were kept company by Lola who was oh so sweet because she wanted me to sort out her I-Pod even though she denied all knowledge of it having been dropped (the screen was knackered).

When Mum and Dad arrived we took them out on a mystery tour as we were going to have a look at a villa that John's sister and husband might rent for their summer holiday.  We knew where to find it because it is just down the road from Lou and H's apartment.  It is the last building in the road but to the left of it was a block of flats from which, if occupied, they could be overlooked when in the swimming pool which was a bit of a shame

The property had a fabulous garden - probably left over from when it used to be a private residence but lovely as it was it wasn't really usable space as you would want to lie near the pool which had a fantastically ornate rotunda thing but not much else in its favour which was a shame because the area was nice and quiet, semi rural but walking distance from Prodromi.  We just didn't think it would meet their expectations and as it isn't a cheap option we don't want them to make do.

We did a recce of the area and met a very nice couple who had been out walking and scrumping oranges by the looks of things.  We weren't sure whether you could walk cross country to Prodromi but having checked with Lou apparently you can.  It is about half a kilometer from Frydays and the bus station so quite nicely placed.

We returned to Droushia for lunch which was a bit of a triumph - I had done a slow cooker meal of chicken thighs in a cherry sauce with some roasted parsnips, dauphinoise potatoes and carrots and peas and Mum had kindly brought a pudding with her.  The chicken thighs were delicious even if I do say so myself!!!

We spent the evening trawling through the internet trying to find more suggestions for accommodation for Janice and Mick - there doesn't seem to be that much about compared to when we were looking for my sister - certainly we cannot find any from the gated community available and some of the owners of properties in Droushia are having a laugh or are on drugs the amount they are wanting to charge - we could make a killing renting ours out in the summer if it weren't for the cats!!!

We will not be beaten though - something is bound to turn up for sure.
