A very very special gift...

We are so very lucky to have friends who have appreciated all the things we have been going through over the last few weeks and addressed it by paying for us to stay overnight in the Droushia Heights Hotel.  I was so gobsmacked when Di told me that I actually burst into tears and that is not me as a rule.

So this morning I started my very special day with a trip down to Polis and a lovely facial and some relaxing reflexology with Kate at Beauty by Kate.  It was a brilliant start to the day and after my hour I felt much better.

John and I then went to pay a visit to my Dad and saw the work that Bassam had done to Elena's grave which is beautiful and so different to anything that anyone else has.  It is so her and Bassam should be so very proud of what he has achieved.

Dad's plants are still surviving and we dead-headed them - it has been so very hot and there is no shade above them so they are struggling a bit.  We will need o have a look for something else soon.  There is work going on to another grave - the lady who died from CJD back in London and who was repatriated here.

The cemetery is well looked after and well attended by friends and relatives - John said he is glad that Dad is here as we are sure our little family plot will never look neglected because it would appear that the people who go to the grave next to him keep an eye on him too.

We called into the Hotel to find out when we could check-in and were thrilled to be told our room was ready and even more thrilled when we found out they had allocated us the Honeymoon Suite once again.  We decided to nip home and feed the cats and grab a sandwich and then settle into our new home particularly as we were going to be making use of the Jacuzzi bath only this time reading the instructions properly so we didn't fill the bathroom with soapsuds!

The Honeymoon Suite is room 101 and is on the first floor at the end of the corridor which overlooks the road.  Being on the corner and spanning the width of the hotel it has views on all sides - John so wants the Hotel to get the electric cables put underground so that these views are uninterrupted.

It was not quite as warm and bright as it has been so I toyed with the idea of trying out the pool and then binned the idea in favour of the Jacuzzi which was such a pleasant experience particularly as there was no need to shovel the bubbles into the shower.

This is said bathroom and very nice it is too - the shower could probably host a party for about 8 people and has such a strong and powerful flow that it almost pins you to the wall!  The suite is simply furnished but makes you feel calm and comfortable.  We have been so very lucky to experience it not once but twice.

We spent a lovely quiet afternoon chilling-out before John went back home to do a cat head count and to feed them before returning with a bottle of wine so we could have a little drinkie before getting ready to meet up with Di and Rob and spend the evening with them.

The hotel was relatively busy but as we were meeting up at 6.00pm it would appear that the majority of the guests were taking advantage of the last bit of sunshine or upstairs getting ready for dinner which was to be served at 7.30pm so we were able to have our pick of seats and opted for the comfy sofas nearest the dining room because from there you get a great view.

As we waited for Di and Rob we were sent over a lovely platter of fruit which we saved until Di and Rob arrived.  We had a lovely evening - we all relaxed and enjoyed our surroundings and each others company.  Some might say that some (i.e. John) enjoyed himself just a tad more than the rest of us!!  Anyway we partook of the buffet dinner and was introduced to the new chef (from Inea) who is there in the evenings and we partook of the carafes of wine and then John couldn't find the room key which he accused me of losing but then found it in his pocket.

It was a lovely lovely lovely way to spend the day and the night and we thank Di and Rob from the bottom of our hearts.
