The weather has taken a turn for the worse with temperatures 10 degrees down on what we have been enjoying and rain forecast and some sand storms. Trust me to be the one who saved their washing until today and then it was up and down like whores' drawers ending up in the conservatory on the airer so the house looked like a Chinese laundry. The clocks change tonight so we get one hour less in bed and tomorrow will be officially spring.
Mum had been invited to meet some of Dad's walking group for lunch at Fitos in Kathikas and initially with the weather being pretty iffy she had decided not to go but then as it improved she decided she would make the journey and then call in and see us afterwards.
John wanted to tart up the sign we made for the complex. We did the centre bit out of some left over aluminium and a bit of artistic licence and he thought he would tile around it with some leftover tiles which have been loafing about. It is 'rustic' or 'good enough for Government work' but it is, at the end of the day, just a sign.
We had decided to have an at home day today doing a few bits and pieces and also spending some time in the garden which has been a little neglected over the last couple of weeks.
There is so much colour in the garden at the moment, colour and scent. I currently have freesias, wild garlic, wild poppies, narcissi and what looks to be some sort of orchid growing up in amongst the Arum Lily.
And there are geraniums, french lavender, osteospurmum, tulips and vinca all putting on a fabulous display but somewhat earlier than they normally do. But their colour is welcome and they cheer me up.
Mum did make lunch at Fitos and came to see us afterwards and we spent a couple of hours sat in the warmth of the conservatory before she made her way back home and avoided the rain which came in fits and starts during the evening. Just about enough to make a mess rather than give the garden the soaking it needs and deserves. I can't believe I need to water in March.
