So we were both awake early this morning and as a result I wanted to get up and get on with painting the conservatory. This meant that we were able to get the shorter of the two long walls painted before I got ready to go to Art at Sheila and Klaus's. It is looking good, fresh and clean and light and bright and we are now in two minds as to whether we get rid of the one orange tub chair that is up here along with its partner which is down at Mums.
I walked down to Art - since the bank people have been and come and cleared the two end houses the whole estate looks a lot better and they actually look quite interesting properties. No idea what the state of the insides are - I don't think there is anything in them so whoever buys them will have a project on their hands.
It has been much warmer earlier this year and the fields en route to Sheila's are full of ripening grain. Two of the massive fig trees that were overhanging the road have been pushed over - literally. There was no-one in the Australian's house today which was good because the woman always asks me in for coffee and I didn't have time today because I wanted to call into the cemetery to see Dad. It is Father's Day on Sunday and there isn't a day goes by when I don't think about him. His grave still looks neat and tidy and the plants we put in pots are surviving.

Sheila finished her picture of the old man and woman and then embarked on something different for her - an acrylic study of a flamingo. You can keep track of Sheila and her art by visiting her blog here.
So I am enjoying this little picture - I don't have a recipient in mind or anyone that has bagged it as yet but I am rarely left with a picture by the time I have finished it.
Anyway a lovely morning with Sheila and Klaus and a lovely lunch before I walked back home where John had been busy with the paintbrush - I changed quickly so that I could join in to get the job finished.
So we finished the painting and we are really pleased that we did it! We have a few things left to sort out but basically this is a tick in the box!! John is contemplating putting a second skin on the conservatory roof so I have been tasked with getting the prices tomorrow when I go down for pickleball.
