Sunday - Magic!!!

Awake early this morning we did a little more painting in the conservatory - this must have touched a  nerve with John as he is keen to do more.  It was his idea to have the conservatory painted terracotta whenever we did it but now I think he sees the benefit in having it in a neutral shade as it looks so much nicer.  It is cathartic - cleaning and clearing and I have to thank Hazel for this as her imminent visit has caused us to put a spurt on.  In fact we spent an interesting morning looking back on her previous visit which was in August 2012 so thanks to the blog we can see exactly what we did with her and that will help us decide what to do when she is over.  I cannot wait - we have been friends for such a long time and we just 'get' one another.

For our Sunday lunch today Mum had opted for a meal at the Magic Garden which is one of our favourite spots and is located in Mesa Chorio.  We were first to arrive but shortly afterwards a table of four pitched up and sat behind John and I and then later a table of two came and sat up behind Mum.  As always we had a lovely lunch - this is such a special place.

The Magic Garden is exactly that, magic, there are all sorts of lovely plants and they are lovingly looked after by Michael's wife Mima.  She is a woman of few words but her cooking is superb and the food which comes from nothing more than a domestic kitchen is first class.

It had started out quite cloudy this morning, in fact in Droushia I brought in my washing because I thought it might rain but once the sun had burned off the clouds it turned into a glorious day - in fact so glorious that we made the most electric we have ever made and it completed a bumper week for us.

Michael had plenty of shade in the garden, in act it was so still I began to overheat - age and hormones have such a lot to answer for!!!

After a lovely lunch we returned Mum to Emba where Fred was pleased to see her return - he is fabulous company for her but is currently very demanding and when it is warm a big fat cat on your lap is the last thing you need.

On the subject of cats - I recently bought a new cat bed - initially it was for Charlie but Boris seems to have commandeered it and he loves it - as you can see from the video!!!  We were watching the triathlon from Leeds if you are wondering what the commentary is all about in the background.

We caught up on Love in the Countryside and Million Pound Menu before retiring to bed - we are hoping to finish the conservatory painting tomorrow!
