Family time...

Today was set aside for family time up at our place because once this weekend is over they will only have a couple of days left for their holibobs.  I can't believe their 2 weeks is nearly up - it has absolutely flown by and I swear that holidays that begin on a Wednesday just psychologically seem shorter.

We had planned a simple barbeque accommodating Alicia who is vegetarian and Janice who is a self confessed fussy pants.  Proper Heinz ketchup was in evidence - none of this reduced sugar rubbish and as Janice had free reign to choose the bread rolls/baps/cobs/buns/barm cakes or whatever you want to call them she had no reason to say that "they were not what she was used to" which was a result - we pull her leg about it and she takes it all in good part agreeing that she is a nightmare! All I can say is thank God for Snack Pork Sausages because they went down a storm along with my caramelised fried onions.

We talked with Alicia today about getting her something special to mark her impressive exam results - it is to be her choice and hopefully it will be something special for her to keep.  I also plan to put her in touch with Hazel's son Jordan so that he can help mentor her in her quest to become a doctor.

It was a lovely afternoon for a barbeque particularly because, it being Friday, the Syrian workers were not around making noise and dust - that will no doubt return tomorrow unfortunately.

For a while the cats kept their distance from our unfamiliar visitors until curiosity got the better of them or, in Charlie's case, Persephone kicked him out! We shall have to ensure that she does not catnap him tomorrow when they return home after their holiday.

We decided to take a stroll around the village and then end up at the Droushia Heights hotel for a drink on the terrace before returning home.  I am not sure exactly what happened there but my phone latched onto the Wi-Fi without any need for the password and thereafter was as am led with premium rate text messages which were costing me money to receive - I couldn't find anyway to stop them so eventually had to power the phone off and will visit CYTA as soon as possible baring in mind we are on a boat trip Monday.  I am annoyed as it is no bloomin' inconvenient to say the least.

It was quite late by the time the clan decided to return to Latchi so John and I quickly tidied up and headed for bed - we have a reasonably quiet weekend ahead of us - at least by our standards.
