And so another week begins. I was off to art and happy to be going because for the next couple of weeks visitors mean I will forego the pleasure in order that we can spend some quality time with John's Mum and my Aunty Joyce and Uncle David.
I stopped off at the cemetery. The pink gerbera which we placed there for his birthday is doing well and I want to make sure that is still the case when Aunty Joyce goes and pays her respects to her late brother. I am so grateful that Klaus pays him a visit regularly and ensures the plants are watered. It will be sometime before we can do anything permanent there - not until the winter weather is over so in the meantime a regular supply of flowers is the way ahead.
I am still working on my beach hut picture and today managed to complete one more hut (the yellow one) and made a good start on the one to the left of it. Early doors I sustained an industrial injury when I was cack-handedly trying to sharpen a pencil with a razorblade and nearly sliced off my finger!!! I cannot understand how come I seem to get into such a mess with the pencils. There is always a massive mound of dust on the dining table underneath where I have been working when we clear up - Sheila doesn't have one!!!
Klaus has been getting creative with his decorated gourds and today there were a couple of swans on the sideboard ready to go to the shop - That Nice Shop in Polis Square - it sounds as though over the last few days several of his creations have been sold which is good news. Klaus and Sheila have been putting in the evening stint in the shop on a Friday - not a bad way of being out and about with the tourists and experiencing the nightlife in Polis during the summer.

We had been invited over for supper this evening so it was an ideal opportunity to take it over with me and I would much rather give someone one of my pictures than it be sat in a cupboard somewhere.
We had been hanging around hoping to bump into Louise and Malcolm to make sure everything was ok. I had seen them briefly on my return from Art - they had been massively delayed so had simply got here and fallen into bed which they admitted they were so glad that I had made. They were off down to the bank and to do some shopping and then if they were back in time we would have just nipped in to see them but they came home and went straight back out so we will catch them tomorrow - bet it is strange for them to be here without George and Pam and without their girls Sophie and Alicia!
It was the most fabulous of evenings - still and warm with no condensation and the sun went down beautifully so it should be another lovely day tomorrow. We went around to our neighbours early - they like to eat early and then it means we can spend some time with them and still get to bed at a reasonable time.
Having ordered fasoulia at the Last Castle the other day Argy offered to make it for me and serve it along with Chicken Kiev so that was what we were having to eat this evening. It was absolutely delicious - the beans on their own would have made a great meal but the chicken was so moist and succulent it just melted in your mouth - Argy clearly had a good teacher in her mum Kia!
