All friends together...

How can you tell that we have visitors coming and not just any old visitor but John's mum and her friends Jackie and Stan - and you can tell because the cars are getting a clean and what's more they were being cleaned by us and not a garage although for the paltry 7 euros they charge to do inside and out by hand I would pay them every day of the week but we have run out of time to get them down to Paphos and the new garage being built up the road is not yet complete!!!   Not only did John do the outside of our two cars but he invited Lakis to bring his up and did that one as well!

We are loaning our visitors Kenny because their accommodation is slightly further out of the centre of Polis and the tavernas and bars that John's mum is familiar with and it gives them independence to explore and not be dependent on us being available.  John is putting together an itinerary - so sorry Stan and Jackie this may not be the most relaxing holiday you have ever had!!!! I am guilty too because I have already booked Janet and Jackie in on a crafting morning Friday morning but I think they will really enjoy themselves.

We managed to catch up with Louise and Malcolm - in fact we did it twice today!!!  We had seen that Stelios had been to clean the pool at 11b so we just popped our heads around the door to catch up.  Big big big thanks to Pam for sending me over a jigsaw and some of my favourite chili and lime chocolate and big big big thanks to Louise and Malcolm for the Hendricks Gin and the truffle chocolates!!!  We took them around for a quick coffee to 3b because we knew that Malcolm would be fascinated by the work that Lakis and Argy have done to renovate their holiday home.  They were well impressed and it has given them food for thought.  They said that when they return to London it is easy to forget how beautiful Droushia is and that when they arrived the other evening although they were delayed and tired it just felt like a second home.

We had arranged to say our goodbyes to Mike on his last night by going for drinkies at the Hotel where he is currently staying and then to Fitos for a blow out meal.  We picked up Di and Rob and then as we were pulling into the carpark bumped into Lou and Malcolm and we all went for a drink sitting out on the verandah in the lovely evening sunshine.

We know that shortly the hotel will close for some refurbishment but we hope that it will not change too much because we love it as it is.  We sat and watched the sun slip down below the hills at Pittikopos, said our goodbye's to Lou and Malcolm who were going home to tidy up having been to the beach and then I think they were off to O Stathmos.  I was driving this evening and Fitos was calling.

We sat at our favourite table and had such a fab meal I forgot to take any photographs!!!!  Fitos came at one point to check we were ok and apologised that when it is busy in the tourist season he cannot look after us in the same way as he was able to this evening.

Before we had even ordered we were presented with a plate of toasted village bread topped with tomato and cheese short of like a Cypriot bruschetta along with a bowl of halloumi and hiromeri (cured lounza) and then a mound of freshly made battered onion rings which were delicious.  I could have finished at that point but then we had salad, dips and pitta bread and then our main meals arrived.  This was followed by a sort of creme caramel, massive brandies, coffees and zivania.  We had had a bottle of wine, several beers and soft drinks and we paid 15 euros a head which included a tip.  RESULT and as the Bobster said "Aint We Lucky?????"

So bye bye Mike until the next time - it has been lovely spending time with you and having you to stay and we hope your future plans go smoothly.  I will finish with a photograph of the sunset from Fitos...
