More good stuff with the Stalkers...

After what was, by my standards, a very late night for me, or rather a very early morning for me I was up at 6.30am to watch the sun creeping up over the hills.  I had not intended to be up that early but Charlie had other ideas.  His stomach doesn't take into consideration what time we might have actually made it to bed!!!  He was scratching at the bedroom doors and I didn't want him to disturb Wendy and Bill.  Also I am concerned about both Chivers and Boris.  Chivers has been out of sorts and we discovered a nasty wound at the base of his tail which had been an abscess.  Boris has also been poorly and we have now discovered that he too has an abscess although his is on his face.  There is clearly a new cat on the block and our wussy lot are coming off second best in the confrontation stakes.  It is a bit worrying but with some care and attention they should be ok but failing that they will be taken to the vets on Monday.

The remainder of the household got up in their own good time and we had a leisurely breakfast before heading off down to the coast where hopefully we would find some better weather.  We took the road through the village and stopped to see what was happening at the Hotel which is due to reopen on 20th December but they look like they need to get a wiggle on if they are to reach that target.  Today the exterior of the new bar extension was being painted - in the rain!

Down at La Plage the weather was stormy looking and there was practically no-one around save for a couple of hardy souls (or madmen) who were braving the elements and going for a swim.  We didn't try the water temperature but it is probably not too bad.

All the vessels building the breakwaters were in close to the beach - they are massive beasts but it looks like this project may be nearing an end.  Hopefully when the really bad winter weather comes the stones will do their stuff and there will be less damage than in previous years.

We had a walk to the marina where we intended to have a light lunch.  We passed Barry and Pam walking in the opposite direction making the most of their surroundings before they return to the UK in January.  They have decided to return mainly for family reasons but do so with some trepidation as they current political and economic situation there is concerning.  We take the view that we just have to cope with whatever Brexit throws at us but we are powerless to do anything so there is no point worrying about it.

We had hoped that it might have been nice enough for us to wander along as far as The Souli and have our meal outside by the sea but the weather-gods had different ideas so we shot into Molos and decided to eat there.  I love the photograph of John and Bill - it clearly needs a caption!!!  John was taking the opportunity to ring Lakis who had (inadvertently as it transpires) rung him in the early hours of the morning and John was a bit concerned.

We had a really lovely lunch and bumped into Jan and her husband from Droushia - their holiday ends on Wednesday so they will be back in the UK for Christmas but back again in the Spring.

We got a little damp on the way back to the car as it had started to rain quite heavily but it didn't look like it had been so bad up in Droushia.  Di and Rob called in with our post and to say goodbye and then Wendy and Bill made their way down to Paphos and the Dionysos Hotel which is to be their home for the remainder of their holiday.

We had no idea what their accommodation was going to be like not being familiar with the establishment so we had offered for them to come back if it was awful!!

Wendy said she was pleasantly surprised and they had a nice room with a sea view and had been left some fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival which is certainly more than they got when they arrived here at Villa 10B!!!!

We hope to catch up with them again before they return home.
