As I said yesterday Abi and Jordan's wedding was possibly one of the nicest weddings I have had the pleasure of attending. Normally I would be of the opinion that these celebrations are only really, really enjoyed by the happy couple and their immediate family and closest friends but yesterday everyone seemed to be having such tremendous fun in a fabulous relaxed environment. Well done Jordan and Abi because your months of meticulous planning really paid off.
Hazel, Gloria and I were up and breakfasting reasonably early - I have to say that I cannot fault the Hotel where we stayed - The Double Tree Hilton, Swindon situated just off the M4. It was excellent and my buffet full English this morning was as good as any I have tasted particularly as the normally bullet hard fried eggs were freshly cooked and runny and with no John at the table I was able to enjoy mushrooms and their spores!!
Our final wedding duty was to return Jordan's cravat to the Moss Bros shop in the nearby McArthur Glenn outlet which was only 10 minutes up the road and none of us complained because we had the opportunity of to wander around this lovely shopping centre which has made fabulous use of what is a magnificent old industrial building and it has retained plenty of references to its previous existence as a railway station.
Sadly I have no room in my hand luggage so I could not purchase anything - although there is no weight limit to my hand luggage it has been stuffed full to bursting mainly with things that we had ordered and had sent to Hazel beforehand. On that subject I am really sorry Lakis but I have had to leave your sonic bird scarers behind for Hazel to bring when she visits - they simply would not be allowed in my bag as there is a spike on the end of them.
Our journey back was uneventful until we got just to the end of the A303 at Sparkford, and therefore nearly home, as we were delayed because of emergency services dealing with a burned out car.
Our afternoon/evening was spent quietly watching films and amazingly I managed to watch two back to back (sorry John but clearly the trick to this is starting to watch early in the afternoon before I start to nod off).

We watched the new version of A Star is Born with Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper and sorry, I know that this was very well received but Hazel and I think that the previous version with Kris Krisopherson and Barbra Streisand is by far superior.
We then watched Bohemian Rhapsody which was very good although I couldn't quite get over the size of Rami Malik's false teeth and attempt at Freddy's unusual accent. The music just made it a joy to watch and we followed that with a Channel 4 documentary on Freddy Mercury which was excellent.
Finally some better news for my Aunt who, although still poorly, has shown signs of some improvement and wants to see me on Wednesday. My sister has been to see her today and confirmed that it would be fine for me to do so and that my Uncle would enjoy my company for the evening. That means I wont be booking a hotel near to Gatwick which I had planned to do rather than stay as I didn't want to be in the way.
