Thanks Funky Pigeon - NOT

Although the weather is changing a bit and we have had some rolling mists at night and lower temperatures this is not the case in our bedroom - last night it was so hot and sticky in there that I chose to sleep out on the daybed - until Mr Boo came to join me and let the mosquitos in with him and John chose to sleep in the conservatory on one of the sofas which is about 2 feet too short.  We were both knackered this morning - I was hot and bothered and tired so had a bit of a sense of humour failure.

I need to give the house a good clean - the conservatory floor is disgusting - not helped by the fact that we are jumping in and out of the pool at every opportunity and then walk across it with damp feet.

Why is it that when you are a bit fractious two second jobs take forever to complete - this does not help my mood any - I set about ordering something for my sister for her birthday which is on Tuesday so needs to be done NOW only to be greeted with a big fat NO when it came to payment.  I have no idea why as I have used Funky Pigeon before without any issue and even more irritating it mentions a live chat to resolve problems but I couldn't find it anywhere and I got no response from an email.  I shall be changing the 'n' in Funky to a 'c' from now on and giving it a stiff ignoring - bit pissed off really because I was quite pleased with the gift I had chosen.  Now I am back to the drawing board...

Di and Rob called in today for a catchup, coffee and biscuit which was lovely and we sat for an hour or so under the gazebo where there was a little breeze.  They left and then returned shortly afterwards with post which included my sonic mosquito killers (hope they work) and a postcard from Jasmine and Frances from one of my most favourite spots in Cornwall - Mevagissey.  I used to go with my Uncle Alf, Aunty Val and cousins Christine and David when I stayed with them for the summer and there was the most fantastic shop selling seaside rock and it had cinamon flavour which I absolutely loved.  Apparently according to the message on the back the girls are having a lovely holiday bless them.

This afternoon whilst in the pool we heard the unmistakable sounds of the fire helicopters which seemed to be over towards Androlikou although we couldn't see them and rumbles of thunder - just in the distance and when you looked at the cloud formation above Andreas's house you could see why.  The rumbles came to nothing and the cloud soon disappeared thank goodness but for a while it was exceptionally hot and sticky

We took the opportunity to go down to Polis late this afternoon to get a bit of shopping done.  It was clearly a good time to go as it was pretty quiet in there and I managed to get everything I needed along with a few bits for Argy without any problem.

We stopped on the way back at the bakery to see if they had any coupes but unfortunately they didn't, John was fancying one with a bit of salad for his tea.  We got over the disappointment by treating ourselves to a Chino to share only trouble was it gave me brain freeze!!!

By the time we had got home, unpacked the shopping, done the watering and sat down to some tea we were both feeling pretty tired.  We managed to watch Pointless then both looked at one another and agreed that we weren't going to get stuck into anything else and the call of the fan over our bed was just too strong.
