Another picture completed...

I finished my artichoke picture at art this morning and I am in love with this picture.  I think it is my best work so far and I will be proud to have it hanging on my wall along with the picture of the poppy seed head.

It was a funny old morning at art because I had recently seen someone on social media asking about Droushia as a place to live and I had said that if they were looking to buy a home then our friends (Sheila and Klaus) have a super bungalow up for sale, someone else jumped on my response and asked for the details which I duly sent and told them I could put them in touch with the sellers direct.  They thanked me but said they wanted to have a bit of a drive around today to suss out the village.  I had completely forgotten this conversation when I settled into my picture and then I received a text from them asking where the property was because they were lost somewhere in Droushia.  I explained and suggested they called in as I was there which they actually did.  Poor Sheila and Klaus had no time to prepare but in some ways I think that is better.  Anyway I don't know if anything will come of it but they spent a reasonably amount of time looking around and making the right noises and asking sensible questions.  Fingers crossed!

Once back home John and I wanted to give the cats a brush.  They are beginning to put on their winter coats and Charlie has difficulties with all of his when it has reached its peak and they do leave so much fur around the house.   Charlie is ok when you get him comfortable but Minnie seems to be able to sort of dislocate her hips to make her super slinky and makes a bid for freedom at every opportunity.  Neither Boris nor Chivers were impressed by let us do what we needed to do.  Currently, thankfully, all four are in good health, free of ticks, fleas and worms and long may it last.

I wanted to give the large solanum outside the backdoor a severe pruning.  I have missed out giving it a regular clip so it had put on a lot of long and straggly growth and about this time of year it has a huge shed of leaves and look pretty straggly so I decided a bit of radical cutting was in order so we reduced it by about two thirds and left a few leaves so that it will put on new growth and look better for it.  Tomorrow we want to tackle Gregoris's honeysuckle which runs along the path to our house as it is in desperate need of a haircut as the centre of the plant has become woody and bare.

I thought I should send Aunty Joyce and Uncle David a picture of the Chrysanthemum which they had bought and put on Dad's grave and which we had rescued when the permanent surround was erected.    We had cut it right back over Winter and hoped it would survive having given it a home on the decking by the day bed.  It survived and thrived and has, this weekend, burst into flower and looks lovely - I am thrilled that we managed to save it.

Last job of the day before going down to Polis to do some food shopping and check up on JJ&S was to frame my picture and to hang it in the lounge which took a bit of thought but we got it done and it looks fabulous.

JJ&S have been, very kindly, entertained by Mum today.  She took them to St Georgios for lunch which they really really enjoyed and then on a bit of a tour around, scones, jam and cream at the Tala Amphitheatre cafe and then to see the house she and Dad had built which is currently owned by Nicky and Mark.  We called in to hear all about what they had done.  They have started their final week on a high - they really enjoyed their day so big thanks to Mum for being their tour guide today!!
