My lurgy continues but I did at least manage to get up today which was something I did not do yesterday. Reluctantly I had to put Mum off coming today but I couldn't face food, cooking or eating and didn't want to hand back any of my bugs to her because she is still recovering from her poorly throat. The cats are well confused as to why they are having to share their day-time bed love-in with an interloper.
Today was clear and bright and followed what we think was the coldest night we have had so far this Winter with temperatures hovering around freezing - this has coincided with a super snow moon. The picture above is not mine but you get the picture!!
About the only plus side to this cold clear weather is that the temperature in the conservatory is great when the sun is shining but then becomes like an ice-house when it is not. We have certainly been grateful to the Cypriot Government for providing us with a heating allowance this Winter - we have really needed it and it is making us think about long term heating solutions throughout the house for when we get older!! It is quite hard to get your head around heating rooms that you don't use save for sleeping in and currently the combination of age and lurgy providing me with my own excessive internal heating means I don't really care how cold the bedroom is - this is not the case for poor John although even I had to admit that 7 degrees is really not acceptable.
There is now a lot of snow visible on the Troodos - I haven't been out to take a photograph myself so have pinched this one which was taken from Pissouri so you get a different perspective. Perhaps now people will believe us when we say it is bloomin' cold here in the Winter and by people I mean you STAN ASHTON!!!
