January 26th

Day one back in Cyprus and it was reasonably fine and dry which, according to John, is not how it has been for the last 10 days and when I look at the garden I can see what he means - it is carnage out there.

It is Sunday and Mum is coming up and bless John he had organised everything for lunch so that I didn't really have to do anything and I was so grateful to him because the travelling does take it out of you and I was feeling very tired - not least because I still have this blooming Neuralgia and am popping Nurofen to keep it at bay.

I have decided that I shall relinquish responsibility for Sunday lunch in the future as he knocked up a superb meal of medallions of pork in a creamy honey and mustard home-made sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and carrots and peas.

I was so pleased to see that Mum had not been adversely affected by her break-dancing escapade last week save for a nasty cut on her knee.  She seemed in good form and pleased to see me but John had obviously done a sterling job in my absence.  My sister phoned during the afternoon.  She is coming out at the end of April to stay with Mum and I know that Mum is super excited that she is coming out.  Let's just hope that the weather is good for her so she can get a bit of early sunshine.  On that subject my amazing Aunty Joyce is still planning a trip in May to celebrate Mum's 85th birthday with my Uncle David which will be so fantastic if they can manage it, particularly after my aunty's terrible health scare last year.

Sorry for the short post but I am absolutely knackered!!!
