A trip to the big city...

We had to go down to Paphos today because I had to collect a parcel.  To be fair the delivery man had tried to deliver on Saturday when we were racing down to the vets.

I didn't know what I was going to pick up - I am waiting for a couple of things including some more jigsaws for Mum which are coming from the UK and a parcel of dresses which are supposed to be coming from Germany.

As it happens it was neither of those things - it turned out to be another set of the solar LED starburst lights which we have in the Do-Jo at the moment and which are really effective.

No idea where the other parcels are - they will turn up in due course no doubt.

As we were going down to Paphos we had arranged to call in and see Mum and get Costa the Aluminium Man in to give a quote for putting a permanent fly screen on the patio sliding doors in the sunroom and on one of the windows so she can get a through draft and Freddo will be prevented from making a bid for freedom.  Costa is located in Lemba so literally the next village to Mum and he came on time and in his normal happy, smiley way.  He measured up and will give us a quote in a day or so.

We spent a couple of hours with Mum before making our way back home via Mammas as we had planned to stock the freezer with some of their lovely spicy Mexican wings.  We got more than wings, we decided to try a couple of their steak pies and then succumbed to a couple of Aberdeen Angus fillet steaks for our 'date night' on Saturday.

Once back home we decided to spend the afternoon just relaxing around the house.  The pool temperature has got to 30 degrees again and is like a bath which is lovely and then with the curtains across in the DOJ it is cool and shady.  It is a lovely place to snooze.

We had curry left over from last night so we decided that was what we would have for our supper but that was not before a game of hide and seek with Boris who was around one minute and gone the next - he had been ill earlier - vomiting a whole baby bird which he had obviously swallowed without much chewing as it returned head, beak and all.

I hope I can get less twitchy about the cats - I am on edge all the time unless I know where they are and I am watching their every move.   If we knew what we were trying to protect them against that might help but we are shooting in the dark so just at the moment everything appears to be a threat.

There was loads of football on this evening but John didn't watch too much of it and in the end we settled for an early night.  This week has been quite tough.
