It looked like it was going to be a glorious day - the rising sun was colouring right across the horizon. It was still and warm and lovely. It was a morning to reflect upon just how lucky we are that we have fresh air and beauty all around us.

We went across to see Liselotte and John and our Hedgehog Home sign which she has put in their woodland area.
We stopped for a quick cup of coffee taking in the magnificent view from John and Liselotte's terrace which looks across to the coast. It is beautiful and they have their home in a lovely spot but I think the amount of garden they have would frighten me to death - still it ensures their privacy and I know that is very important to them. I was admiring a fabulous plant outside the kitchen door which Liselotte thought had died but was in full flower. I am thinking that it is some sort of salvia and the colour of the flower spikes were magnificent - a real purply-blue. I shall keep my eyes out for some of them as I am trying to ensure that the 'Zen' garden has a lot of flowers which are blue in colour. Currently we have nigella and larskpur and they look lovely.
When we were last talking to Sally and Tommy they said that lockdown had enabled them to get round to sorting the hundreds of photographs they have and I asked them if they came across the ones of our 'charity' Christmas I would love to see them. One year we were all a bit skint so John and I, Sally and Tommy and Frank and Cheryl did secret santa and we had to buy our recipient a gift, costing no more than £5 from a charity shop which then had to be wrapped in newspaper but we had to cut words out of the paper and make sentences which described the recipient!! That was the year John bought Sally THE lemon jug which he has always wanted to pinch back. I can't remember who bought John's gift but it was a ridiculous game where we had to wear elephant ears and noses and pick up donuts!!! Anyway the picture above it not from then (I don't think as Sally has bare arms) I don't even remember the occasion but we were clearly on the Karaoke and we reckon this was about 21 years ago - certainly before she had children!!!
We took the opportunity to shoot off to the Winery and replenish our wine stocks. The winery is currently open for sales but on Tuesday (after the Bank Holiday) will be open for food again but obviously under the restrictions that the government has imposed with regard to the numbers it can serve etc. Still it seems that the island is slowly getting back to some sort of normality and let's hope that all the places we know and love will have survived in the interim.
We spent the afternoon in the DoJo and realised that, lovely as it was, the sun was nipping through and so we were shoved up on one end of the daybed trying not to get burned. We realised we had some red curtains we had taken down from the lounge which were just the right width for the gap so we shot down to Glykkis and picked up a couple of curtain poles and then I took them up and now we have something to keep the sun off if we need it.
We have an early start tomorrow as Costas is coming with the new aluminium doors for the woodstore and the potting bench - we are super excited as this will make that area look so much tidier. That being the case, coupled with the very early start, meant we headed off to bed shortly after tea!
