Challenging...

It is a bit hard to differentiate between days at the moment but today is Tuesday and bar going down to Paps to do our weekly shop we are not doing anything else and we are really quite happy about that.  Worldwide news is really quite scary and we are glad to be in our little bubble here in this beautiful corner of the world.

We spent the morning looking for subjects for this week's challenge which is anything to do with wood.  I decided I would use my artists body thing as a prop and place it around the garden.  John was off on a mission too and has come up with some great shots.

I can also announce that my water lily is about to produce a second flower with a third and a fourth coming shortly afterwards so thanks Nicky we love it.

We went to check the post today as we are still awaiting a parcel from John's sister - that hadn't arrived but the two jigsaws I had ordered for Mum from the Yorkshire Jigsaw Company have come and will keep her busy for a fair few days looking at them.

Whilst John was checking the post I went to the cemetery and watered the flowers at Dad's grave and David's grave both of which are .

I find the cemetery fascinating.  For all their hard lives the folks of Droushia manage to live quite long lives - the oldest I have found so far passed away at 103 years.  This headstone is near the exit and it quite different to any of the others.  The carving is so worn that I cannot make out names or dates but guess it is probably quite old.  I find the cemetery peaceful although it is a bit higgeldy-piggeldy in places the more recent additions are in an orderly row.  I am glad Dad is here.

Shopping in Paps Polis was very uneventful thank goodness - no queues, not many people and everything we needed including Pigs Liver for the cats which was a result as we were getting a bit desperate.

We had noticed on the way down that the ice-cream place in Prodromi has reopened - it is our favourite and that is saying something as I am not a lover of ice-cream normally.

John had his favourite pistachio and sour cherry combo whilst I went for mandarin and vanilla which was absolutely fabulous and so welcome on a very very hot day.

Polis seems to be returning to some sort of normality thank goodness.  It is a bit sad to see the Home Concept shop has just about sold all its stock and will close.  I liked that shop but to be fair never bought enough from it.

The remainder of the day/evening was quiet.  I managed to resurrect the road runner chicken and make a pretty decent smoked dopiaza curry which we both enjoyed.

Like Mum we have decided to try and change our bedtime routine to ensure a better night's sleep - John sleeps great but I do not so tonight we are staying up later (if we can) and then forgoing the tablets before light's out.  Hopefully that will help!
