I am not saying it was big but this is how my tummy felt afterwards. You have to hand it to Rachel, Savvas and Valentina, when they do something they do it really well. So for 4 euros I had two slices of back bacon, two eggs, one sausage, tomato, mushroom and baked beans with lots of toast (and jam) add to that a corking cup of Breakfast Tea and it was heaven. There were a couple of people sampling this new offering including Das and Belinda who have now met Nicky and Mark. We all enjoyed our start to the day and big thanks to the Kirbys for paying for ours. We shall sample the day-time offerings at some point particularly as they are doing the baby calamari which I love although I have to say that you would have to go some to beat the Souli on that score.
On our return we found the two boys sleeping in tandem - zonked out by the continuing overly hot weather. They set the tone for the day as neither John nor I felt like doing too much so we decided to have a swim and await the commencement of the cricket. I had arranged for Mum to come for lunch tomorrow with Jackie and Costas so I needed to get a little organised. I had decided on kebabs, salad and potatoes and John was keen to have some village halloumi so I dispatched him off to the village cheese factory to go and get some fresh.
He returned with the halloumi and a gift from Maria which was some freshly made Anari (a bit like ricotta) which was so fresh it was still hot!!! It was so kind of her and now I need to find a good recipe to make use of it. This is when I miss Argy not being here because I know she would know exactly what to do with it and put it to good use.
I was just getting myself organised when I had a call from Costas. Sadly Jackie is not so well and with it being so hot and her under the weather we decided it would be best to postpone our get together tomorrow. He called in time for me to put back and freeze some of the food we would have eaten. He has a great appetite so I had catered accordingly and he was very disappointed that he would be missing out on my meal but we can do it again at a later date. I rang Mum to let her know - it is disappointing but she will just have to put up with us two instead.
Nothing else to report on today. We did nothing save cuddle up in the Doj watching the cricket in the cool.
