We are all struggling and on Thursday I had a massive dip in energy - not helped by the fact that I have been finding it difficult to sleep particularly as Charlie has become nocturnal, sleeping all day and then wanting to eat at night and in order to keep him quiet I get up and do the honours.
Miss Minnie has moved from sleeping with her head on the bathroom towels to going inside the shower on the cool of the tiles. She is so quiet in there that we have to ensure we do not lock her in - although she would be in the right place if that did happen and she needed a wee!!! John and I have been having an early morning swim to cool down or an outside shower so she is left there undisturbed.
First thing this morning I took Sonia to the Community Office so that she could meet Marianna and make sure she was up to date with her bills and to see what was in the building. Sonia moved in earlier this week - she is at the unpacking stage and deciding where everything needs to go but is really happy with the way her home has turned out. It is a beautifully light and airy space now - with everything on one level and the covered space between the two buildings turned into a sunroom. We always felt that 1a could make someone a really nice home and she has proved us right.
It was too hot to walk to the Office so I drove up and paid our water bill, introduced Sonia to Marianna and then took her to see the weaving museum and the looms which we had used a couple of years ago. I had made the rug I gave Sonia for her 70th birthday on one of those looms!!

They wanted us to have a look at it and give an honest opinion based on our experiences of living here and Cypriot buildings.
On the face of it the house itself was lovely - we think it may have been an agricultural building now turned into a dwelling - lots of beams and natural stone. The original building housed one bedroom, a small bathroom and a very nice kitchen and then there was a glassed in veranda which was laid out as a dining area and sitting area. It was all very tastefully done so we could see the attraction. The property had a large roof terrace and outside terrace and to the side a massive piece of land and a 'shed' which looked like it could have been turned into another small dwelling. We were concerned about the access to the property which seemed to be over a shared rough bit of road where you could easily get blocked in by vehicles visiting neighbouring properties and the plan attached to the title deeds didn't seem to indicate any sort of building on the plot which was a bit strange.
We decamped to the coffee shop in Arodes for a discussion and all agreed that whilst the house itself was beautifully presented it was tiny and the extra land was great but a bit impractical and that we all had some sort of niggling doubts about the location. I think we had confirmed what they were feeling rather than putting them off which is good. It is early days but something suitable will turn up. This is a big decision - a once only move to their forever home so it needs to be right.
We did nothing else for the rest of the day save get in and out of the pool to cool down!!
