We have kept in contact and it transpires that, amongst other things, Lazaro is an artist and she has joined the Lockdown Challenge as an interested by-stander rather than contributing but she did send some of her work for people to have a look at. I particularly liked the one of the mermaids which has a reference to one of the sculptures on Limassol seafront.
I shall be at sixes and sevens for the remainder of the weekend as Mum is coming to us today, Saturday, instead of tomorrow (when she is going all posh and having lunch at Porto Antico with Lilian). We have not eaten at Porto Antico but remember it from years ago when we used to go for a walk on Boxing Day and it was just an old Carob Mill - we don't remember it being quite so close to the sea in those days so guess nature has taken it's course and eroded coast line.
Anyway back to today and I had suggested ringing the changes at the weekend with lunch out at the Kathikas Gin Bar on Saturday (they have entertainment on a Sunday night so don't start serving food until 3.00pm which is no good for Mum). I had arranged with Savvas that he would do Cod and Chips for Mum even though it is not on the menu and is normally a special. Even though it was a hot day there was a lovely breeze blowing through the terrace. Das and Belinda were in there so it gave us an opportunity to introduce them to Mum - if they are to be neighbours of ours soon (which looks likely) it would be good for them to know her and her to know them.
This evening John was going to the airport to pick up Lakis, Argy and Kia (seen here having lunch out at the Winery last year). Their journey was fraught as they did not receive their NHS Covid test results in time to upload them for their flight pass so had to have a second test on arrival and should get the results for this within the next 24 hours. We had explained that until we knew for certain all was well we would need to keep our distance so John was masked and sanitised to the max as was the car and their bags and they all wore their masks in the car back to Droushia (as they were not all from the same household) and then John simply dropped them off so they could relax and have a cuppa before making beds and getting some sleep. We had sorted most things but bed-making we did not as we don't like to intrude too much into their personal space. We are sure it will only be a couple of days before we are all back together.
