I don't think I have ever taken any notice of the house which is to the right and behind the supermarket. It looks like an Italian villa with arches and balustrades and mable statues.
It is an imposing and impressive building and I wonder which came first - that house or the shack that houses the supermarket - it is rather a shame that the view of that property is obscured by the carbuncle that is Philippos's.
Anyway I digress but if you are ever there stop and have a look- it is a gem of a piece of architecture which is hidden away.
I knew today at the Dentists was going to be less than pleasant as Dr Harris had already warned me that I had to have a filling along with my regular clean. Last time I had a filling the Novocaine didn't work and I had multiple injections before Dr Harris threw in the towel and I had to return a week later having had a dose of Diazepam first. Fortunately today no such problem - the injection worked straight away but I felt like I had a lip that was massive for sometime afterwards. What was not so pleasant was the clean which was by far the most thorough I have ever had and at one point he touched a 'sensitive' tooth and I nearly touched the ceiling. I have been furnished with a plentiful supply of teeny tiny brushes as Dr Harris pointed out I have (unfortunately) rather large gaps between my teeth where food could reside if not careful.
We were prize winners today which is unheard of for us as we never win anything!!! My Finnish friend Tanja in the village runs a page on Facebook called Happy Hens (because she keeps, amongst other things, hens). She ran a competition asking members of the Happy Hens page to submit a favourite egg recipe which I did.Bad weather is forecast this week and every year we say that we will get some maintenance done but need to wait for the weather to cool down and before the rains come to do it so we realised we had a very small window of opportunity to get the remaining plinths painted and waterproofed so I did the ones at the front today but sadly forgot that there is one under the kitchen window that didn't get done previously and didn't get done today and so therefore may not now get done until a long dry spell (next year) because it cannot be painted if damp. It does look lovely when done - clean and tidy and finishes off the front garden nicely.
