Cold and wet with a chance of snow

Charlie is improving thankfully although still very quiet but that isn't so surprising as he has tonsillitis as a result of the infection up his nose.  So he is improving, but the weather has taken a turn for the worse, it was forecast to do so and today it started out quite cold, wet and windy with the chance of some snow apparently.

It was a day to be snuggled up safe and warm so Boris decided to stake his claim on the bed early doors.  If I were to caption this photograph I would have a bubble coming out of this mouth proclaiming "this is MINE, ALL MINE!!!"

We decided that lovely as it was lounging in bed we ought to get up and go and get our shopping done as soon as we could after 10.00am (we are not old enough to go shopping in Paps before then!) and then we could come home, hunker down and not have to go out again - this is John's idea of heaven - a whole afternoon watching films or series on the box with the fire roaring and the three cats keeping us company.

The weather last night must have been rough because my lovely Welsh Daffodils had been battered flat and were nose planted onto the path.

I cut them along with some of the purple blooms from the Vinca and shoved them into a vase so that we could enjoy them for a bit longer.

I am concerned about the weather and the effect it is going to have on the garden as there are so many things that think Spring is here already and they are going to get a terrible shock.  There is nothing we can do - but we haven't had snow for several years so that is going to be hard.

We had planned several jobs today but they would have involved being outdoors and as it was peeing down first thing that didn't seem a very attractive proposition.  Fortunately nothing so important that it couldn't wait until the weather was more conducive to a spot of DIY!!

This was the view (or lack of it) as we drove down to Polis - this is the piece of road which runs along the bottom of the Droushia Heights Hotel and which they have recently resurfaced and it looks and feels brilliant - it has been uneven all the years we have been living here.  We are just hoping that they do the stretch that runs down the side of the hotel as that is awful since they dug it up a few months ago.

So we got the shopping done and did exactly what we planned - watched TV for the remainder of the day.  We watched the second half of the film The Little Stranger which we started on Valentine's Night but were too tired to complete.  It was rather bizarre and the ending 'open to interpretation' - you can say that again - I had my ideas and John had his but either way it isn't a film I could recommend.

We then watched a three episodes of Two Weeks to Live which we found very amusing and will definitely finish tomorrow.  John then watched two films, a Sci-Fi one called Archive which was pretty good and had a twist to the ending and another called Tenet which was ok but the music was so bloomin' loud it did my head in.

We had bought a cheap and cheerful Sainsbury's four cheese pizza in Paps and decided to have it for tea but not as it came out of the packet - we added onion, chilli, peppers, chorizo, pepperoni and more cheese on top.  I have to say it was abso-bloomin-gorgeous and we shall definitely be having one of these in the freezer as a standby for the future.
