I am going to smell!!!

It is a sad day today as I have squeezed the absolute last drop of perfume out of the very last bottle which my lovely mother-in-law gave me - bless her she has brought me a perfume from the plane on her way over here for the last three years at least (when she could travel) - something different each time and each time I wear it someone always says I smell nice so M-i-L (Janet must have good taste!!!).  I can't smell them on me but I particularly liked the Caroline Herrera Good Girl because it came in an iconic bottle shaped like an FMS.

So missing her holiday last year has meant I have been careful with my squirtage but today I could squirt no more and will have to resort to my Lidl smell-u-like Suddenly Madame Glamour which is a ringer for Chanel Coco Mademoiselle apparently or at least that is what they said after a blind sniff test.

Actually take a look at the blind sniff test link there are a lot of reasonably priced perfumes which can be mistaken for something designer and expensive.  I shall have to keep my eye out - anyone tried the Primark Pomegranate and Black Tea Eau de Parfum?  Now that sounds right up my street - shame we don't have a Primani here!

I was walking today with Liselotte - my walks with her are the hardest that I do and it was going to be pretty hot today.  I had planned a walk which was about 9km but I know she prefers to do more than that really.  I had to explain that I have really been struggling with the heat.

We started at the square in Arodes which was looking beautiful - Pano Arodes is a pretty village but only seems to have the little coffee shop by the church and nothing else - great if you like peace and quiet and don't mind traveling every time you want to go out to eat or grab a pint of milk.

It was a nice walk which started off going out of Arodes and past the little shrine to the Patron Saint of the village and then down along the nature trail where you walk along with a massive ravine to the side of you.  I had managed to find a couple of 'black' lines on the walk which indicates very minor pathways which sometimes exist and sometimes dont but I know this is the kind of walking Liselotte prefers.

As we reached the halfway point I realised we had been walking at quite a lick and when we came to the point where you either turn right to go back to Arodes (which is what I had planned) or left down into the wilderness I could see that the walk was going to be shorter and less exacting than LL might have liked so I had a quick look at Komoot and realised that we could turn left but then shortly afterwards follow a wiggly black line which should take us back to the meet the road as originally planned but this would make the walk longer and add a steep hill.

According to the map the path goes up this hill and although we could see something much further up there was nothing obvious so we just looked at one another and decided that we could do a bit of mountaineering at the beginning and then pick up the trail - which is what we did.

The view from the top was magnificent and although it was a bit of a struggle at the beginning we soon found evidence of a goat path and followed it and it took us exactly where it was supposed to so we rejoined the original walk having had an interesting and unexpected off-piste section - I would like to do that walk with John at some point because he would love it.

We walked back via Kato Arodes - coming up past the old Turkish Cemetery (this was a mixed village before the invasion) and past a number of old houses which are now being restored although having said that this archway was like this when we walked past about 10 years ago and has never been completed.

Liselotte said she had enjoyed the walk and to be honest so had I - I had actually surprised myself by managing the extra bit both in terms of the length of the walk and the increased incline it had presented us.

That was my one outing of the day done and dusted.  We were having leftover takeaway tonight so didn't need to go out again thankfully.
