A beautiful evening for a beautiful walk

It is a beautiful start to the week, The sun is shining and we have nothing desperate to do today save for pop down and visit Di and Rob so that I can pick up the card they have for Mum's birthday which is tomorrow.

I had a bit of gardening I wanted to do as the poppies are now over and quite a few have produced seed heads which are full and not, as yet, invaded by the orange bug that got into them last year.  I am not sure what they were but whatever they were they got inside when the seed head was still green and although it ultimately turned brown the seeds inside never dried out because of the bugs.  I had saved a whole load of seeds for Liselotte but couldn't give them to her because I didn't want to introduce some nasty unwanted to her garden.

We sat down partway through for a break and raided the freezer for some ice lollies which John had got the other day from Paps.  I am addicted to the Cloudy Apple Sainsbury's ones but they don't always have them.

We went to check the post before going down to see Rob and Di but they didn't have anything but it would save them going to have a look!!!  We spent a very pleasant hour or so in their garden catching up.  Their garden is looking superb, Rob has worked so hard to get it up together.  Thankfully Di is beginning to look a little better after having knackered her back.  Hopefully when she feels able to sit for any length of time we can get together socially now that restrictions have been lifted.

This evening I was walking with Rachel and Nicky had decided to come with us so the Three Amigos were back together after a long break apart thanks to only being able to walk in twos!!!  I thought I had it in my head where we were walking but got it a bit wrong so couldn't follow Komoot just had to go with the map instead.  We started near Arodes and walked down to Kritou Terra and then back up.

It was a fabulous evening - not too warm, in fact as we walked the clouds started to gather and over Lysos it started to get very black indeed.  We have walked some of these tracks before and I was trying to get it around 7km so that we could be back before it was dark!!  At the pint where I took this photograph I suddenly got a phone call from my lovely neighbour Charalambous - I wondered if there was an issue back at their house but as it happens he was ringing to ask where post would go if he were to get it sent to Droushia.  I explained and said I would go and check over the next few days as to whether anything had come for him and ask Philippos to keep an eye out and let me know.

Here are my Amigos - or maybe that should be Amigas as we have got almost to the top of a horrible steep hill but the view behind was amazing as the village below was catching the last of the suns rays as the clouds were gathering.  Poor Rachel was moaning that her white legs were whiter than Nicky's shorts!!!

As we approached the end of our walk the sun was setting beautifully and the temperature was fabulous for walking.  Bless Nicky she is going walking with me again tomorrow morning - she will be knackered!!!  I tried to get a picture of the clouds - they were shades of burgundy and purple over the mountains but try as I might the camera on my phone wouldn't capture it.

I was starving when I got home - I had a piece of pimped up pizza in the fridge left over from our earlier meal - I have never ever eaten cold pizza before but tonight I broke my duck!!
