The Day After My 2nd Jab

I woke this morning feeling pretty ok save for a slightly bruised feeling where I had been jabbed yesterday - other than that nothing really untoward - I kind of think we actually look for something to be amiss because we are expecting it.  Anyway let's hope that there will be nothing now to worry about.  I had planned a quiet day and Mum was off out with her girlfriends so that was good as I normally go down on a Wednesday.

We had a leisurely start to the day and mid-morning when John had arranged to go and see Les I decided I would start my entries for the Art Challenge which is Sunflowers this week.  I am anticipating a load of similar looking paintings because really what else can you do bar paint a bright yellow and cheerful bloom but I decided to think outside the box and my first picture was of some sunflower sees which I thought would be a little different!!

When John returned we had a spot of lunch and then settled down to an afternoon of some TV.  We finished watching MotherFatherSon which we had missed the first time round and had found a bit bonkers and confusing in parts but on the whole pretty good except for the final episode which seemed to rush to a conclusion - either that or there was a potential for a second series - too many unanswered questions and loose ends for our liking.

Late afternoon/early evening we did some watering - even though we have had an extended hot and dry period the garden is looking pretty good and there are some amazing splashes of colour dotted around.  I particularly like one tub which houses a deep purple Trandescantia (wandering jew) which provides a perfect backdrop for an hydrangea with bright lime green leaves and pink blooms.

We only water the pots that need it - we have learned that the hollyhock which John rescued from the field next door does not need regular watering - the leaves had started to turn yellow - and when you think about it those you see on the sides of the road or in fields dont get any care and attention - sometimes I think we should remember less is more for some!

We had a drink up on the roof terrace but the weather had made a subtle change and it had turned very windy so we didn't stay up there too long.  It had been nice to have absolutely nothing planned for today and to be able to lounge around without feeling guilty but I find that everso tiring!!!  That being the case I text Nicky to say I would be fine for a walk tomorrow and she was  more than happy to join me.  A nice little one around the streets of Droushia and Inea will mean we don't have to drive anywhere.
