I get bitten

You have to love little Miss Minnie as she has a knack of being able to wrap us around her little paws.  It has been so hot that we have had both the ceiling fan and an upright fan going in the bedroom all night and she has worked out that if she creeps in whilst we aren't looking she can bag the best spot for a cool and she knows that we aren't mean enough to switch the fan off.  Shortly after I took this photograph she rolled over, legs in a very unladylike fashion getting a breeze on her bits!

This was me this morning - I had been bitten on my lip in the night and looked like I had been in some sort of botched limp plumping exercise.  It was pretty painful but thankfully after an ice-pack and some antihistamines it began to reduce in size sufficiently that it didn't look like I had gone several rounds with a heavyweight champion.  Close ups are never flattering but a close up with a fat lip is the worst.  I was relieved that it didn't remain like that for long because we were going out with Di and Rob in the evening to Finikas in Polis for a special meal to celebrate her birthday (last week) and our 30th Wedding Anniversary (next week).

I had managed to get an appointment with Lumi to get my hair cut - having spent the last two years growing it I couldn't cope any longer with my fine fly away hair looking lank and lifeless in this heat and so I went for the chop - I have now got something called an undercut which I think looks a bit like what Jack Grealish sports - floppy on top and short short underneath - photo will follow at some point when I have mastered it myself!!!

We had a lovely evening in Finikas which is most definitely our go-to place when we have something special to celebrate - it isn't the cheapest but the ambiance, staff, service and food are a cut above and for that we are willing to pay a little extra.  It was really good to catch up with Rob and Di and enjoy the food together and we drove down and left Kenny so we could all have a drink and then got a taxi home.  It was also good to see that the restaurant was relatively busy what with all the restrictions - and it appears we might well have some more coming along.
