I spent several hours of my life (which I wont get back) sorting out our tax forms today. The forms themselves for the income part are easy because until next year our income doesn't change so apart from interest rate changes that is it. So far so good but then when you submit for the self assessment calculation I have to fill in a section for our contribution to the National Health System over here (GESY). I have no complaints about having to contribute - we are not old enough to get it for free but the form was completely confusing and even with the help of a nice lady in Paphos Tax Office we couldn't get it to submit - she had no idea why the computer kept saying NO and in the end I had to submit and email to TaxisNet which is the system used over here. I got an answer to say that yes I had filled it in correctly and yes it was throwing up an error but I simply needed to ignore it - who would have known???? So I got my form completed and submitted with my contribution calculated and then did John's and then tried to pay - it has to be done via electronic banking - needless to say that this was not without issue but eventually done - phew - until next year!!
It ain't 'alf hot Mum! and due to get even hotter over the weekend.
I have my periodontal gum treatment at the end of this week so may well be incapacitated so I shall just lie under the fan and keep cool if that is the case.
We didn't have much planned for today - it is too hot to walk although I would be keen to do so because I am worried I might not get going again!
This week's Art Challenge is "Boxes" and so I decided to get something knocked out to swell the numbers. There are less entries but those that continue to submit want to continue and I am happy to keep it going for as long as possible. Funny really I had expected it only to last a couple of months initially but here we are about 18 months later still painting and photographing!
We caught up with Lakis and Argy this afternoon whilst they had neighbour Richard there doing a mammoth window cleaning job. After a shaky start to their holibobs things are settling down and once the 'glassing-in' project is completed they will be able to relax and enjoy their time here. Having said that they have decided that they do want to have a car port for their car and so if they get a reasonable quote they will have that job done as well while they are here. We are glad that things are settling down for them - they really do need to chill and enjoy now.
We are also hopeful that George and Pam's daughter and family will be coming this year - if they do they will be here on Saturday week. I cannot believe that their two girls, who I entertained doing some craft one morning, are now grown up young ladies - where does the time go and strangely I don't have any photographs of them when they were here last. I do remember going on a shopping trip to the Mall to try and find a prom dress for Sophie but I thin she was less than impressed with our choices!!!
It was an exceptionally warm evening as we took a stroll out to get some air. I had not slept well yesterday as I had a bit of neuralgia coming on - we think this may well be linked to the gum problem I have having looked on the internet so I am hoping that my treatment later this week will sort that out.
