A great day for adventures...

When Lou and Malc are not dealing with banks and builders and electricians they had expressed an interest in getting to know the local area a big better so as Nicky and I have returned to walking we invited them to join us.  I asked the cardiologist if walking was ok - he said, of course as long as I was sensible. so last week Nicky and I went on our first walk for a while and today we were doing the same walk but in reverse because it gives a completely different perspective.

They are digging up the road and putting in some grey pipes - not sure what they are for but it makes the walk a bit more difficult than normal but on these stretches we don't meet any traffic!  The views are lovely and Malcolm and Louise were amazed that this is right on our doorstep.  If we go walking again on Saturday we will see if they want to come along - I have a feeling they will!

On our return we went with Lou and Malc down to St George's in the hopes that we might get to see the turtles.  It was quite windy when we arrived and the sea was full of canoeists and paddle boarders and the sea was quite churned up so we only managed a brief glimpse from a distance so we decided to go and have a light lunch at the beach bar and relax.  It was just lovely sitting there and the food was really lovely and so inexpensive.

We decided to have another look for the turtles after we had eaten and we were much more successful the second time and we were thrilled that Lou and Malc got to get up close to them because they are absolutely amazing.  We didn't go in and swim - the water looked a bit too cold and uninviting today!

We decided to round off our afternoon with a quick drink at Oniros - we haven't been for a while and they have done so much work there - they have nice little booths now where the grassy section used to be.  We were lucky to get a table but said we wouldn't be there too long in case it had been booked for later (they never used to do bookings).

It is still a very impressive place to visit and I have to say the food looked really good - ok so it isn't the cheapest but you are paying for the surroundings and some pretty impeccable service.  The whole place looked spotless and my mojito was one of the best, if not the best, I have ever tasted.

We returned home via Akoursos just to ring the changes.   Again that is a really pretty run.  It is good for the Bennetts to get to see some new and different places and we are more than happy to show them.
