Walking resumes!!!

After a long break we are back - the three amiga are walking again and it was a beautiful day to get back to achieving some better fitness.  It seems like a lot has happened in the intervening months so we did as much talking as walking, but we did manage over 8km today in a pretty good time so we weren't as unfit as we had thought we might be.

Nicky drove and we met Rachel at her place and walked through Kathikas and out on one of the walks we do pretty regularly which culminates in Big Dog Hill.  Today we did not put in the Machu Pichu loop just in case it was a step too far for our inaugural autumnal outing.

One thing is for sure though - they don't hang about building houses at the moment.  There was absolutely no sign of this house in the offing when we were walking before our summer break and look at it now and it is right next door to another similar house which used to be in splendid isolation and rather exclusive - it isn't now!

We are due some rain - in fact the weather at the weekend looks very stormy indeed but to be fair the island is desperate for some, and the minute we have it, everything will be turned green overnight.  At the moment the only thing offering some relief from all the dusty brown are the vines.

Mindful of the weather change we decided we needed to pack away the do-jo and try to make it as waterproof as possible.  Usually we leave it too late and the gazebo cover gets wrecked in the first storm and now that Superhome Centre is closing, and that is where we got replacements, we need to make sure we this one going for as long as possible.

The weather might be cooling but tonight we were having a firm favourite, brie salad with some bacon and pear to ring the changes.  We will soon be on soups and casseroles!
