We are very hopeful that the change in the clocks has heralded a change in the weather - today was bright sunny and warm and we were in the mood to get the garden into some sort of shape for the Summer. We started with the dining area under the gazebo - not warm enough to sit there today but soon hopefully. Tomorrow if we go down to Paphos I will get a new wipe clean tablecloth as the other one completely disintegrated.
We then moved up onto the roof terrace. Everything but the cushions got taken out and cleaned off and put in place. The privacy panels are on their last legs but I did get a new set from Jumbos a couple of years ago - haven't seen them since so we are holding off putting them up. The old ones limp on for a while longer.
I then moved around to the front garden - its looking ok and we wanted to investigate how the Do-Jo had survived the winter. We were amazed to see that we had managed to keep everything under the tarpaulin dry - we just need the weather to take everything out and we can use it again.
At this point we had a phone call from Ellen to say that the contents of her container had been delivered by Peter Morton and she wondered if we might be able to give her a bit of a hand because (a) Richard had to be at work and (b) she wanted to make sure that the things I had ordered and she had packed had arrived safe and sound.
I needed to do a couple of things first but was more than happy to give her a hand if she needed it. I had arranged to see Isabel today - I am conscious that I haven't seen her for a while and I know she spends an awful lot of time on her own. I also wanted to give her the picture I had made from the pebbles we collected at the beach. I wanted her to have something to remind her of her time here in Cyprus and our friendship. She plans to return to Scotland just after her son, partner and grandson come over which is supposed to be early May.

John was busy trying to get all George and Pam's workers doing what they should do - today ShipShape pitched up - we weren't expecting them and BlueNet the internet people came to install the internet so hopefully the TV box will pitch up soon so we can get that all sorted for them then they will be able to enjoy some TV other than Stin Ygeia Mas and the Cypriot equivalent of Long Lost Family even though George loves them!!! We need the remote control though first!

I went around to Ellen's and between us we managed to empty all the boxes and crates which had been delivered to her house (we were leaving the ones which had gone next door to Richard). Ellen was quite worried that it wasn't until the final box we managed to find anything which belonged to me and then Mum's shoes were missing - Ellen remembered packing them so we reckon they were tucked in with something of Richard's and would pitch up in due course. I left Ellen going through everything we had unpacked and I invited her to come and have some tea with us later as I knew she would be knackered.

Just to give you some idea about the weather today I actually got some shorts out and wore my gardening flip flops - it was amazing and we made loads of electricity which is a real bonus. John and I both said we had been so invigorated and were pleased we had got out in the garden and started to get it Summer ready. We actually began to feel like we had shrugged off Winter at long last.
Our supper this evening was Lemon, Asparagus and Chicken pasta and it was absolutely delicious. I added some additional veggies as I had a bit of leek left over and a bit of red pepper and chili so that all got thrown in. Ellen was very grateful for the invite - we put a bowl together for Richard who came home from work absolutely knackered - John took it round with a bottle of beer and stayed for a quick chat. I haven't seen Richard since he returned from the UK - that boy is working far too hard!
