A Bit of a Panic

Mum rang early this morning concerned that there was something wrong because she had been able to see something in her eye when she was lying down but not when she was standing up.  We decided that it was probably a floater which is common and become more apparent after you have had a cataract operation because you can see better which makes sense.  That was good because I was about to get dressed and rush down there even though I was going out this afternoon with Rachel and Nicky on a Droushia Walkers afternoon tea at the Elea.

I had a few minutes in the garden - I have a mystery plant which has put in an appearance just when I thought nothing was going to happen.  I had found three packets of specialist seeds for climbing plants which I had got off the internet.  I had forgotten them and shoved them pots together with the small piece of paper that identified what they were.  Those pieces of paper had faded beyond recognition so I dont actually know that this is a seedling of!

We went round to see Argy and Lakis and their two sons this morning to make sure they were ok and that the service yesterday went to plan.  They all look a bit shell shocked and understandably.  We just hope that now they can begin to move on.  The boys return to the UK tomorrow but we will be here to help and support Argy and Lakis as best we can.

We went in style to Elea Golf Course and this time we were sat out on the terrace.  Last time when I went with Rachel we were indoors but that was in December I think.  It was very warm today which probably had a detrimental effect on the quality of the afternoon tea which we think they may have prepared in the morning as it was all a bit dried out.

It was a shame because it all looked lovely but just needed to have been a bit fresher plus the savoury mini quiches seemed to have been made with sweet pastry which was a little odd!!

Nevertheless we had a lovely afternoon.  It is great to see Rachel outside of work and relaxing and it was warm and sunny - it has been a long time coming but now that it is here it is very welcome.

We decided as we were so close to the coast we should go down and dip our toes into the sea to see what it is like although we really weren't dressed to do so!!!

Nicky took us down to the bit of coast which is near Ricco's bar which was pretty empty - there was quite a lot of seaweed on the edge of the waves so we had to take a walk to find a bit where we were happy to put our toes in.  Both Nicky and I had had to take off our heels so that we could walk down the beach.  It was bracing to say the least - I don't think I will be rushing to swim in the sea anytime soon that's for sure!

We returned home.  John and Mark had been out together into the village as the only members of MODS available to do so and had eaten at Finnikas and were just carrying on where they left off in our conservatory so Nicky and I joined them - it seemed rude not to!
