Check Up for Mum

Today I had to be up to take Mum to see her eye consultant.  It was going to be a long and very sad day for our lovely friends and neighbours Lakis and Argy as they were sayig their final goodbyes to Argy's Mum Kia in Limassol.  We could not go but we will mark her passing in our own way and when they are feeling up to it do something special with Lakis and Argy.

I grabbed a bit of shopping en route to Mum's and then took her over to Mrs Metaxa for a check up and instructions on her after op eye care which is administered by way of drops which mum's neighbour is going to do for her which will help me no end because to begin with the drops are every 3 hours during the day.  Fortunately the drops are very liquid so actually Mum thought she might be able to manage as the containers don't need to be squeezed.

Mrs Metaxa seemed to be pleased with Mum.  Although her eye was very bloodshot she seemed to be able to read the chart quite well even at this early stage.  She has to go back for a follow up on Monday and I will take her as I want to hear what Mrs Metaxa has to say first hand.

We went from Mrs Metaxa's out to the Amphitheatre Cafe in Tala where we decided to have a coffee and a sandwich for our lunch which was very pleasant and then back at Mum's I did the few things she wanted done before I went across town to get my hair cut (at last!!!).  I got the lovely job of cleaning out Fred's litter tray - I have all the fun!  In the field next door to Mum's the potatoes are coming along nicely.  There is supposed to be a shortage of them because of the weather so I am hoping she gets a bucket when they do come to pick them!!!

I had a bit of time to kill before my haircut so nipped into Jumbos because although I didn't need anything I was looking for some inspiration for this weeks' challenge which is EASTER!!! I was so very grateful to Lumi for squeezing me in to get my hair cut as she is struggling with having some extreme dentistry done (I know that feeling) and was looking as though she was in quite a bit of pain.

John had suggested picking up a takeaway from The Farmyard on my way home which I was more than happy to do - in fact it was so yummy I didn't get a chance to photograph it before it was consumed.

I called Mum for an update before settling down for the evening.  She said that Effie had managed to do her drops and she was feeling ok which was good news.
