A Special Sunday

After a delayed start to her visit Kaye had a quiet day yesterday and then today being Sunday she was coming up with Mum and we had booked a table at Yialos by the Sea for our lunch because the view is lovely and there is a good choice of food and a childrens menu which Mum can chose from.  It was a much brighter day as we had a bit of rain yesterday but quite windy so we were glad we had been down previously and chosen the table we wanted - table 66 which is under one of the shade trees and out of full sun.  Having said that I am guessing it was probably too cold for mum but at least she had dressed appropriately with a cardi.

This is a rare photograph me with Mum and Kaye - I don't see any family ressemblence but I guess there must be.  We had a nice lunch.  John drove down in Mrs Kirby so that we could arrive in style and we had a bit of humming and ha-ing about the best place to park her as it was her first outing with us on a busy Sunday!!!

It was quite a surprise to be served, at one point, by Lola - my how she has grown up mentally and physically - she is now head and shoulders taller than me - this was always her aim! and she is slim and looks so much more like Amora her older sister and she is pleasant and engaging.  Elena would have been so proud of how Bassam has managed to bring up the kids since she passed away.

John and I chose to have the mixed grill platter which was very nice and was a good way for us to get exactly what we wanted.  It included pitta, salad, chips and tzatziki along with chicken and pork souvlaki, lamb chop, loukanika, sheftalia and halloumi.  Kaye chose a lamb kebab and Mum had chicken strips and chips.  Big thanks to Mum for paying for us all.

It was a very nice hour or so and then we came back to ours to sit and chat.  Kaye is coming up on Tuesday to do a walk and to have something to eat at Fitos, then on Wednesday it is Mum's birthday and she has organised for us to have afternoon tea at Peggy's in Peyia.  Thursday is Kaye's last day and we have booked to go to Dias Zeus - this used to be Rigas which was Mum and Dad's favourite place when it was owned and run by Tassos - we haven't been since it changed but the reviews are very favourable and it will be a bit of a trip down memory lane for us all.

I hope the weather improves for Kaye and that she gets to have a bit of time down on the beach - I think her booking the apartment was a good idea because she can have a bit of down time to herself.

Mum seems to be better having had that rogue drug stopped and on the new tablets - maybe this is just a happy coincidence.   Anyway Kaye was impressed by the medication that Dr Mala had recommended which was good - in fact she though she might get some for herself as she doesn't sleep well either.
