After several hours this morning trying to sort out a mystery with our internet in the house we were ready to get out for some fresh air. We had recently begun to experience unstable connections and fluctuating speeds. John was sure that CYTA were to blame and were reining us back at certain times of the day. We rang and they said that they couldn't see any issues so that sort of implied that either they were fibbing or that the issue was internal to the house so we decided to remove everything that could be attached to our network and then identify the item and add it back on. Eventually we found that the old WIFI extender had failed and was no longer working and this was probably the cause of all our problems. This was a long and painstaking process but worthwhile.
As we were going out with Mum and Kaye for a nice meal this evening we decided to have a little trip out to the Garden Centre and have a light snack lunch and take a look around. I cannot believe how amazing the Centre looks. This is the floral display outside the cafe area and it looks amazing - it showcases their plants beautifully.
We plumped for toasted sandwiches with an Americano coffee. For three euros for the sandwiches you just can't beat if for value and then bless Marianna she came with the biggest piece of lemon drizzle cake for us to share which was a present from her. It was busy which is good to see - they have a winning formula and as it is family run deserve every success.
This evening we went down to Paphos and picked up (a) our log book for the new car which they have now issued with the correct names and (b) Mum before going to the Tasmaria Hotel Apartments where Kaye is staying. Her appartment is massive - this is the kitchen dining area taken from the lounge and her bedroom was the same size plus she had a bathroom. It is a bit basic and very traditionally furnished but it has suited her to have a bolt hole to have some time to herself.
We had booked to eat at Dias Zeus which was in walking distance from Kaye's accommodation. It used to be called Rigas and was Mum and Dad's favourite restaurant back in the day. It has been renamed, is run but different people and been given a bit of a new look but it is unmistakably still the place were we had many a family meal. We had a nice evening, my halloumi salad was absolutely delicious but being in the tourist area prices were pretty keen. We did get a coffee/tea and liqueur on the house which was nice and used to be the norm but doesn't happen much now.
A good evening all round except that when I took Mum in as she wanted me to dress her leg we suddenly couldn't lock the car it just kept beeping a warning at us. After a lot of investigation we realised that I had the spare fob in my handbag and when I took Mum into the house it was the only time I had left my handbag in the car and the car wont let you lock it if there is a fob inside - phew panic over!
