Traffic Jams

It was a day of traffic jams today!  John was catching up with Arodes John and I had taken them to the Gin Bar in Kathikas where they would discuss football, cricket and the cost of a pint no doubt!  I decided to drive back via the scenic route only to encounter an 'elephants trunk' doing some dodgy manouevres on one of the narrow roads.  These vehicles deliver concrete via massively long pipes which they flex and bend over and around obstacles until the shute is in a position to fill whatever it is that needs filling.

I had learned today that on Monday it is Nicky and Mark's wedding anniversary - how did I not know that?  I think because when they renewed their vows in 2020 they did so in March so I sort of thought that was when it was but they had done so because they had friends over at the time (it was Nicky's 50th) and a good job too as the following week we were all in lockdown.  Anyway whilst I had a bit of peace and quiet I made them a card - I am not entirely sure why I chose sheep!

I then did cleaning and tidying until it was too hot to do any more and I collapsed in the pool which has gone back up to 30 degrees.  We are nurturing it so that when our visitors come they enjoy the experience rather than stoically announce "it is ok once you get in!!!".

On my return trip to Kathikas to pick up the boys I had a traffic jam of a different kind as the goatherd was moving his flock across the road.  I guess it is a sign of the times that the goatherd now does his job on a moped!!!  Anyway I wasn't delayed long and got to the carpark for 4.00pm as agreed.  It sounded like the boys had a nice boys' outing and it will be sometime before they are able to do it again because of visitors and trips abroad - we thought probably November at this rate.

John had eaten and I didn't want too much so we decided on a 'picky' tea sat outside enjoying the evening sunshine.  It is noticeable that the days are getting shorter, by 8pm it is now dark and damp.  I have got to start bringing in cushions otherwise they will rot, on the plus side I don't have to do so much watering save for the hydrangea and the kiwi fruit that need daily drinks the rest are ok for a couple of days now and it is looking quite lush at the moment.

We are pleased to report that Miss Minnie is quite well at the moment in fact she has got her appetite back again which is good.  It's funny but it seems that whenever we worm the cats they start eating more not less!!!  Anyway she sat on one of her favourite viewing spots in the garden to watch us have a nightcap before going indoors to watch a bit of TV before calling it a night.  We have a quiet day tomorrow.  We were supposed to be going out to lunch but sadly Jeff is still not well enough - he is really going through the mill at the moment - not helped by the fact that he has got shingles which is apparently a lot more likely if you have had covid which he has.
