Today we were saying goodbye to Laura and Mark. It has been an absolute pleasure having them to stay as they are such easy guests and no problem at all save for Laura's hair which I will be finding for months!!! Anyway they were off today for some shopping and wanted to go to the airport early to sort out their seats after the on-line booking system debacle yesterday.
I was taking John's Mum to see my dermatologist who had given us an appointment at 11.00. This turned out to be his favourite time for telling people to come along so we had a bit of a wait but he did actually see people in turn. I know John's mum was very nervous about the whole thing but my dermatologist is nothing if not charming so he swept Janet in, sat her down, had a good look, poke and prod and declared it to be nothing to worry about and that he would deal with it there and then which he did much to Janet's surprise. Probably best to do it that way otherwise she might have backed out from having her leg frozen!!! Anyway apparently the thing on her leg will now drop off and disappear and I am to take her back next week just to make sure all is ok. Total cost for this little adventure was just over €7 for a tube of cream and peace of mind! BARGAIN
Janet and I walked back to Polis Square to find Jacky who had been having a mooch around whilst we were with Dr Nikos. It gave us the opportunity to have a nose around the Home and More shop next to the chemists. It is a lovely shop housed in a beautiful building and not everything is expensive. I love the china in there - you cannot beat a nice china cup or mug for a cup of tea.
We returned to Droushia having had a successful morning. I am not sure Janet will thank us for her frozen leg - apparently when the spray was being applied it was quite painful but hopefully that should soon wear off. As I said no time to change her mind and that is probably the best way to have dealt with it. She was amazed how easy it had been for me to get someone to see her as back in the UK she next to never gets to actually see someone in person.
We went for a last meal with Laura and Mark. We chose Fitos because it is close and convenient and definitely open and they would also be able to pack up something for them to take to eat on the plane. We haven't been for ages as we like it when it is less busy (as it was today). They have added to their menu in a big way so we are looking forward to trying out some of the new items over the winter period.
We walked down to the Corner House to have a quick drink with the Crew. We thought that was a better idea than Janet hobbling up with her shin and Jackie with her ankle. Only trouble was that Charlie decided to come too so John had to pick him up and take him back. Twice Charlie had different ideas and jumped out of his arms. Eventually John managed to get away but I was rather glad to find Charlie at home when we returned rather than outside waiting for us.
