Getting ready for Christmas

What a busy day.  We started with brunch at Venetico.  It was a bit windy so the large brollies could not go up so we struggled to find a table big enough that was in the shade.  John shot off to do some food shopping for our Christmas Day which we are having on Sunday 25th (September!!!) and we could not hang around because Keith the electrical repair man was coming.  The breakfasts were good, John and I shared the Cyprus breakfast, Janet and Stan had the full English and Jackie had the avocado toast with extra egg.  It was to last us until this evening when we were having a meal at Fitos.

Keith came on time, gave the top of the washing machine a shove and the top came off then did a bit of investigation before getting out a little toffee hammer and then he tapped something and hey presto water started coming in again and it was fixed.  Thanks Keith that was 35 euros well spent!!!  Actually we have him 40 because that was a darn sight cheaper than buying a new machine!!!

Stan and John were on the third and final leg of their annual Droushia Open Golf Championship.  John is nursing a bad arm and a bad back so his chances of overturning the deficit from Minthis was slimmer than slim although he had dosed himself up overnight.  I was being teacher to Jackie and Janet on a craft afternoon where we started by making Kusudama flowers (Japanese Origami) and then some painting.

Here is some of Janet's work.  I think they both enjoyed themselves - at least it kept us amused whilst the boys were away.  We had to work indoors because once again it was blustery outside.  It had turned Autumnal all of a sudden.

The Droushia Open Golf Trophy was handed back to Stan for safe-keeping for a year.  Apparently it had been even-Stevens on the last hole but Stan won that one and thereby the whole challenge.  I think they have enjoyed this year's challenge save for the fact that John put his back out!!!

We reconvened for our evening meal and went to Fitos where we had booked our favourite table from which we could watch the sun set.  It was an opportunity to try some of the new items added to the menu.  Jackie and I both selected the Vegetarian Plate which we thought might be a lighter option.

Yet another excellent meal.  The cod and chips went down a treat and Janet, like me, chose the child's portion and got a piece of fish the size of Moby-Dick!!!  John had mixed kebab on a plate and as I said Jackie and I had the vegetarian.  I really enjoyed it, it made a nice change with grilled mediterranean vegetables, halloumi, pilafi and chips.

We dropped the Crew back at the Corner House and we made our way back home.

We had a bit of time before going to bed so decided to get the table laid ready for Christmas Day - it will be one less thing to panic about.  Tomorrow we are home so that we can get everything ready for Sunday.
