Revisiting a Favourite Spot

We did not get to bed until the early hours so it was a slow lazy start for us and then we set off for lunch at the Last Castle (Viklari) which has undoubtedly one of the best views of any taverna I have ever been too.  Sadly 'mum' who was front of house and I think called Frosso has passed away since we were there last there.  She had been diagnosed with cancer and died shortly afterwards.

The place was packed and has been extended but the view, food and service as amazing as ever and now along with the pork and chicken souvla and vegetarian bean dish you can order fish and lamb if sufficient people want lamb to make it worth their while.

It was so lovely and relaxing there - this is good because both Laura and Mark are in need of some rest and recuperation which hopefully they will get.  Their week will fly by and before we know it they will be going home 😞

Our next port of call was down to St George's to see if we could see the turtles which we did!  Laura and Mark were so amazed that they plan to go back with snorkels to go and swim with them if they can - this is timetabled in for Saturday when we will be preparing for a late afternoon barbeque.

We had a whirlwind stop at the Corner House to catch up with the Crew who had had a day 'at leisure' and had gone off to Pomos and Laura and Mark had a mini tour of the accommodation and did some scrumping in the orchard as the peaches were all falling off the tree.

The remainder of the afternoon was spent in and around the pool before we took a gentle walk into the village for a couple of drinks before bedtime.
