Saying Goodbye to Friends and Family

Today we said goodbye to our lovely friends and neighbours Lakis and Argy.  It is hard to believe that their six month stay has come to an end but I think they would both admit that they were now ready to go home and be with their family. John was taking them to the airport and we had fingers crossed for an uneventful journey and no chaos at the airport.  See you next year!!!

Whilst John was doing that I took the Crew down to Kings Mall for their annual sortie around Jumbos which was in season changeover mode so as yet no Christmas Decorations so it was good that our Present Game yesterday was a selection of Christmas goodies so they will have something new to take back with them.  Whilst down that way I fitted in a trip to Naz for some pig's liver and to pick up my parcel from Cyprus Emall so that was a couple of things I could cross of my list.

We have been reading recently about cat's that suffer with whisker stress or whisker fatigue which is caused when a cat's whiskers brush against the sides of their bowl while eating.  Recently Charlie has stopped eating food that is around the edge of the bowl and we have to push it all into the middle - we think that maybe he has whisker stress or he is just being lazier than usual.  Eitherway we made the decision to see if we could find some shallow bowls to see if things would improve.  I managed to find some cheap and cheerful ones in Jumbo and so we will if that helps.

This evening we had arranged to meet with the Crew and go to Kaponas with George and Pam so that we could say our goodbyes because flight timings mean that we wont be able to go out for a meal with Pam and George on their last night.  We had an amazing evening.  Great company and great food and an even better bill at the end of it because one of our bottles of wine and two of the beers were on the house courtesy of Eleni.  I have to say her sheftalia were exceptional and Stan and Jackie got to try fresh Pastichio and enjoyed it although their meals were huge.

We invited George and Pam to walk back home with us via the Corner House so that they could see the accommodation.  George loved it - there were so many things in there that reminded him of his childhood including an old Singer sewing machine which made him chuckle.  I guess he used one like that when he was a young trainee tailor!!!

I think it is fair to say that this choice of holiday accommodation has been quite a success - it has certainly been a different kind of holiday being right in the hub of the village and we would certainly recommend it - you are so close to the sea that I am not sure the lack of a pool is a big deal.

George and I walked back together, Pam and John followed on behind.  As we turned the corner into Lordos 1 both Charlie and Boris were waiting for us.  Charlie decided to spend the remainder of the evening at 11b.  John and I made sure we had seen all of Nicky and Mark's three cats as we are feeding them whilst they go away for a bit of a holiday.

It had been a lovely day.  Tomorrow is the Crew's last full day and we are out in the evening at Finikas in Polis which will be lovely.
